NaNoWriMo

I know it’s a little early and that they haven’t even reset the website yet, but anyone planning on attempting this year?

For those that don’t know what it is check out http://www.nanowrimo.org/ It stands for National Novel Writing Month. You have to write 50,000 words in the month of November. It is pure wonderful torture. lol I’m impatient for it to start.

I’m deburnin on there too if anyone wants to be writing buddies. :)

(Oh and this will probably be a P&R because I need to get ready for work).

Hey!  I was going to make a post about this today!

I'm planning on doing it again.  I failed (miserably) last year, but I also learned a lot, so I'm excited to try it again.  I'm going to place less importance on word count, though.

Now I just have to decide what to write about.

I did it for a few years, but now I'm too busy to :(. I have one unfinished story that I've been needing to work on that I started for NaNoWriMo 2008, heh.

I've done NaNo twice, won on my first attempt in '08 and failboated it in '09. I didn't do it last year but used it as an excuse to work on some other writing projects, and I think I'll be doing the same thing this year.

How many people do you think "cheat" in NaNoWriMo?
Why don't you think they have people type straight into the website to ensure non-cheating?

<div>Well, there's not really a significant prize for winning, or a penalty for losing, so cheating is kind of pointless.</div>

<div>If you cheat to win NaNo you’re really only cheating yourself. It’s not like there’s a cash prize or anything. And I’m guessing the reason is server space. Also people are worried about the website owner’s gaining rights to anything published on their website. At the end of the month most people encrypt their story so the word count stays the same when they paste it into the verifier.</div>

I WANT to NaNo this year, but I'm not sure that's even a possibility given my workload. It's possible.. depending on how much effort my teacher work sample is, I just might be able to make it work. We'll see!

Last year, I was taking 6 classes and working to support myself on top of it, so I got all of 10,000 words before quitting. Meanwhile, BF sat down for the first time (it was my third try) and finished three days early. Yell

Still.. next November, I'll be a first year teacher. o.O So maybe I should go for it this year.

Best of luck to anyone to attempts! =D

This would be awesome I love to write but it will never happen.  November is far too busy for me.

I am all ready for it. I  hope to get my other story rewritten by the end of the month so I can start the next book in the series like I had planned on doing. Have already added 2000 words to what I recovered!
