How was your weekend?

We had our first official premarital counsel session yesterday! We are doing it with a couple from our church in their 50s. It went really wel!! It was actually really enjoyable. We all chatted for 3 hours and had to force ourselves to leave!

I made 2 veil mock-ups. Will have to PIP later tonight.

We celebrated FIs birthday! Went out to lunch and wait around a cafe for the blustery afternoon. We were going to see CrazyHeart but ended up not getting to it. Has anyone else seen it?

    I have not seen it...but I had a heck of a weekend!

Friday night was BFF's birthday.  At the restaurant by 7 for martinis but no food til 10:30pm! It was PACKED! But it was excellent.  Heading home to an empty house (BF was a his sister's birthday) sucked buttt the pugs and I stayed up and watched Criminal Minds til 2 am.  Because we're just that cool.

Saturday I went and got BF and then we had a Cuban Partyyyy!! It was EXCELLENT! I had tons of food, music and happy people.  Many mojitos and rum punches were consumed and I kicked everyone out at 3:30 a.m.  Needless to say Sunday was pretty much a write off.

BF and I are now officially living together! Everything went relatively smoothly, except when I got mad at him for not moving fast enough and getting things done (And it doesn't help that my brother ALWAYS takes BF's side...boys).

But we are all unpacked with no more boxes or organizing left, we just have to hang up pictures/curtains/mirrors, have the sofa, headboard (we had to get a new one because the first one was damaged), bookshelf and washer and dryer delivered. BF also has to fix the visual atrocity that is all of the cords hanging down from our wall mounted tv. I'm really happy with how everything looks and turned out-especially the paint colors and am sooooo happy and stress-free now! :)

BF did crack me up yesterday morning when he asked if my new stress-free living meant I would always be in a good mood...I quickly burst that bubble and told him that I wouldn't be that optimistic! haha

Yay for a short week this week and my best friend and her BF coming for dinner and to see the apartment on Thursday!!

This weekend had a big, huge punch of crazy thrown into it for us. Saturday afternoon, one of my close friends told our whole group that he's getting married in May. Yes, May 2010. To a girl he only started dating in February, and met in the middle of January.

Needless to say, we're all in a "What the French Toast?" mood about it. And some serious side-eye...

The weekend was sweet. My little sister came to visit so my roommates and I threw a party, where my sister made out with a guy I used to date and my roommate threw up so hard she wet herself.

And then, the BF and I talked for a long time about me moving in with him at the end of my current lease in July, which is about how long it will take me to save enough money anyway. I can't wait.

I was expecting it to be a lot better. On saturday we went down to Galveston to celebrate a friends birthday and when we got close to Houston we called another friend because it was almost lunch time. He said to meet at his house and we could carpool with him so we thought 'Great! Now we don't have to worry about driving back up to Houston after or finding a hotel down there!!' We thought that it was going to just be him, DH and me but when we show up there's another couple there that we know. Apparently they are going to carpool with him as well - the problem? His car only holds 4 people, the other couples car only holds 4 people so that leaves the only car capable of getting us all down there is mine. So now we can't really drink as much as we wanted to because we have to drive.

So we get lunch and the other couple leaves to get stuff at their apartment and don't come back until 3pm. The party was supposed to start at 3 - in Galveston. It takes about an 1 to 1 1/2 hours to get there from Houston and then we had to take the ferry across to Bolivar. We didn't get there until nearly 6:30 and it was COLD! I was pretty steamed because a friend that we hadn't seen in a couple of years was there but he had to leave shortly after we got there because he had other plans so we didn't get to hang out with him.

Next time we're just going to get a hotel room so we don't have to worry about other people's schedules.

It was alright. I was working on getting over a cold. I discovered a cute little town that is a little south of where I live. Got a few wedding things accomplished.

Kat- How are your veil mockups coming? My mom and I are also making my veil. What a pain that has been.

It was okay.  DH ended up having to work both days.   (However, this meant that he was put on a new project that will last at least a year, so this is a huge positive.)

On Friday, we did make it to the lake with the dogs.  Klaus is getting more comfortable with the water.  Then, we hung out with DH's bestie.  I love his friends.

Saturday, I got a bunch of errands done.  I tried to register for more basics at Target, but they carry almost nothing in store.  Very frustrating.  That night, we went out for MIL's birthday.  The meal was fabulous.  It lasted about 3 hours with long drawn out courses.  I am still drooling over it.

Sunday, I volunteered at the farm where we had our reception.  I love going there.  They had a big open house for spring.  There were baby chicks, 1 day old lambs, garden showcases, insect stations and a pond lab.  I worked at the pond lab where we tried to catch invetebrates.  We caught lots of tadpoles at various stages.  Unfortunately, I forgot that I have not seen the sun as much as I normally do, so my nose is somewhat red today.

Buttons and Taft, sorry.  Need to vent?

Sapphire, that would piss me off.

Kat, I loved our sessions as well.  It is great when you really connect with another couple and can look to them for guidance.

Paige, where are the cuban pics?

My weekend was okay. My sinuses have still been horrible. So I slept a lot on Saturday while BF played video games. We went to P.F. Changs for a lunch date.

On Sunday I got my hair cut and we went over to my parents' house for my grandpa's birthday. I played pokemon stadium with my youngest brother. My sinuses were still really bad all day and then after I left my parents' house, my mouth(the bottom left side) started hurting..my teeth, and I realized later that night that my cheek and/or my gums were swollen and pressing against my teeth. I just figured it had to do with my sinuses and took some ibproufen before I went to bed. It stopped hurting after a while and then I woke up later on because they were hurting again and couldn't go back to sleep. I took some more ibproufen this morning and it only helped a little bit. It still hurts. I was talking to my mom on the phone(it was so hard to talk, I'm surprised she understood me) and said that it was either related to my sinsuses or that I had an allergic reaction. So I am finally going to the doctor today except there is nothing I can really eat, so I'm going to have to figure something out..
    Ya. That was my weekend.

i guess maybe i should vent somewhere..

Friday - Work was fine overall except getting lectured like a child about something i have no control over and am pulling out all the stops to meet some stupid new quotas the new store manager has imposed since our last one was an idiot. i was trying to locate something for a customer and my clutzy self drops something breakable - in front of the customer , i feel like an idiot and have a panic attack. Work ends - go home - fall asleep early.

Saturday - Slept in but felt like hell broke loose on my body - aching , pains , the usual. Had to work a long shift - find out my friend is back in the hospital again - she is battling a rare form of cancer - too late to go visit since i had to close. Look at next week's schedule and find out my hours are more than halved - freak out about money again. Come home and looking on a messageboard for WoW i used to play and all our friends are planning a spur of the moment Vegas trip..that was MY idea. i was the one trying to get it organized and making calls and talking to people yet FI's Best Man takes it upon himself to take the credit and try to manipulate everything. i turn off the comp and go to bed..was not in the mood.

Sunday - No work so slept in. FI and i get ready to go run some errands at Costco and get breakfast. One of my kitties sneaks into the bedroom closet and when i go to pick her up i brushed up against the vaccuum we store in there , she freaks out in my arms and her ginsu claws make my arm look like i was attacked by a shark..

And the innocent face who did it..

Okay so after i stop bleeding and look like i just had a dance with a Ginsu blade we go to breakfast and run errands. Friend calls from hospital again freaking out about her on again off again relationship that is no good for her but she keeps forcing herself to deal with it and she is miserable but when she breaks up with him she wont stop blaming herself..i love her but i cant..take..it..anymore. i have so little time for myself or FI or even just us because of our conflicting work schedules.

i'm tired all the time , i'm grumpy , it's a crappy time of year for me. April 15th marks 5 years since my mom passed - Easter was always a big deal and it makes me sad . It's spring break /college season and it reminds me how worthless my life is in that aspect. i'm not looking for a pity party but it sucks being nearly 32 without any formal education past high school because of lack of money - not drive. Then being talked down by people sometimes half my age for not having kids , not having graduated college and getting engaged before all that. i don't need some random person to tell me what i am missing or want..i have desires and dreams too..just because my plan didn't happen dosen't mean i don't try. i better wrap this up before i cant see the screen anymore from crying. /><

My weekend was fair. Not much to complain about.  BF and I met this cute little old couple at a play though.  The play was hilarious, and the man was even funnier.

They sat right next to us.
    Woman: I'll be right back.
Man: Thanks for the warning. (Then to me) Hey, if I run off, will you tell her where I went?
    Me: No way!
Man: I don't trust you... you women always stick together.

    Then later during intermission
Man: (To BF) I sure hate women.
Woman: (To me) Yeah, that's why he's been married to me for 57 years...
Man: Yeah, that's why I've ONLY been married for 57 years.

Just wanted to update everyone about my health. I have a sinus infection which caused a gland near my ear/back of my mouth to swell. I'm on antibiotics now, so hopefully it helps.

Sometimes I feel like my life is a merrygo round spinning at top speed waiting for me to get dumped off the creepy circus animal. On one hand: My mother can no longer make payments on her house and has moved in with my grandfather leaving my the farm animals homeless...however on a good note they are coming to washington finally...but its a $3000 trip....but my pig DNA and hair samples from Norway are going to be arriving next week!!!! (thats very exciting incase you were wondering I have been waiting since January) And I can work on genotyping them for my thesis. And I got 2/3 of the way through my quantitative genetics paper however I got tired of thinking and ran out of steam. And I have a seminar to present to all the faculty next week that I am not looking forward to doing. But on a good note...only 137 days until I see my BF again.

Oh and I forgot I get to go to the National Animal Science conference in Denver in July!!

Mine was pretty terrible - I was sick with this stomach virus that's going around ALL weekend - from Friday night until yesterday all I did was lay in bed and watch movies.  I did watch a few good ones though!  The Soloist - amazing!  Amelia - I though it was pretty good, a little drawn out, but good, Old Dogs - very cute/funny movie, The Hurt Locker - this was way too hard for me to watch and I wish I never would have...I have a very close friend that's leaving next week for his 2nd term in Afganistan and this movie tore me apart.  Oh, and last night, to finally get out of the house, I went and seen Hot Tub Time Machine at the theater - pretty darn funny!

Weird - April 15th will be 2 years since my father passed. If you need to talk, you can PM me or something. We'll be sad together.

My weekend was eh. My mom is putting our house on the market so Saturday was a cleaning frenzy because Sunday was our first open house. It went very well - we had 6 potential buyers come through and 2 want to pursue.

The only miserable thing was on sunday, the weather was so crap here but we had to take our dogs out of the house for 5 hours while the open house was going on. There's only so much you can do on a cold, windy overcast day with two medium sized dogs who freak out if they're left alone in the car.

    Meh. Is it Friday yet?
