Haha! FI said the same thing when I put that picture on FB. I was playing with photoshop with the bathing suit picture and I flipped it and couldn't figure out how to get it back. It is on the right side of my body.

I also forgot to say what it was. They are two forget-me-nots. They are tiny little wildflowers that symbolize enduring love and faithfulness. One is to represent me and the other FI.

Mere is a closer picture I just took.

(it is a much lighter blue than pictured)

Has anyone needed to go back for a touch up? I think mine might need it.

I love Rent too. I was obsessed with it for about a year. Like, all I did was watch the movie and sing the showtunes and fangirl over the actors.

    Yep...

The movie sucks compared to the actual show. I saw it three times on Broadway. BF hates the show. We argue about it all the time.

AAAHHH YAY MORE RENTIES!!! <3 I saw it more times than I'd care to admit (15) and was lucky enough to be at the final show. I won lotto tickets. You can see me in the DVD on the lotto line.

Anthony Rapp (the original Mark Cohen, and was also in the movie) was in my car once. He came to my college for a lecture and I was one of the hosts. I got to drive him around and we went out to dinner to the restaurant my mom owned. Now every time I see him he asks how my mom is.

I've seen the show too. But you can't exactly keep replaying that over and over in your living room while you weep to yourself.

He was indeed. I can't prove it in pictures, though. I couldn't exactly take a pic while I was driving. He is a super nice guy, by the way.

I haven't but I need to. My hip tattoo is a hot mess and a tattooist I'm friendly with took one look at it and said, "Oh you poor thing. When you're ready I'll touch that up for you."

I have gone for a touch-up...re-coloring hurts worse than when you first get the tattoo.  Something about the dead scar tissue makes it hurt worse.  Of course I had a cover up as well and that was 2 hours of pure hell.  Totally worth it, but pure hell nonetheless.

Its your body and you do what you want. If that phrase has special meaning to you  then get it.  Don't let someone tell you that what you feel is meaningful is dumb.  Now if you were to get your BF name on your body, sorry but I would tell you that is dumb.

I have a blue morpho butterfly on my back right hip...my sister and I got them after my grandmother passed away (she loved butterflies). I've got four Chinese symbols in a row (hope, faith, love, integrity) on my lower back - four things you should never take for granted, and never live your life without.

I'm seriously considering getting a pheonix after the wedding...rising from the ashes of a rather shiteous 3 year period into a new life with the hubby.

I think my thing is I'm not sure that it's meaningful. Like, I love that phrase, but as my bf pointed out (as well as his uncle) so many people have that tattooed on them. IDK..I want it, but I don't wanna be just another girl with that on her foot. That's why I've been waiting and thinking about it and looking and seeing if anything else has stood out to me.

If you like the phrase have it translated to another language and have that on your foot.  Italian, French, Latin, Spanish, German, Dutch, Persian,... possibilities are out there.

I considered Chinese characters, but then I'd feel like I'm jumping on the bandwagon there (:p). I did take 5 years of French..but it sounds really dumb in French. vivre.rire.amour. If laugh wasn't rire, I might consider.

orangecrush, maybe a language to do with your nationality? One of my BFF's is 100% Italian, speaks Italian, and wants to be an Italian teacher. So she got her tattoo - which says "Courage, Passion, Hard Work" - in Italian.

I don't have one yet but in the next year or so I'm going to get one! I'm getting a swallow or dove with the breast cancer ribbon flowing from it's beak. My grandma passed away from breast cancer 8 years ago and she was very special to me!

BF has one on his back which I absolutely love! It's a cross. I love tattoos but don't think I will get any more thena two or so.

All of your guys' tattoos are awesome! It makes me so excited to get mine! Gahhhhh impatience!!!

I've wanted a tatoo for years, but have commitment issues with a design.

Mind you, it doesn't help that BF isn't entirely encouraging of it. He has a one that he got done in Ireland, so he is fine with tatoos. He doesn't think it suits my personality.

I'm getting my first tattoo very soon, probably this month. I'm really excited, but also pretty nervous.

I want to get the phrase "All the steps I've taken in my life have brought me here, now" in Italian, on the side of my foot. The phrase has a lot of meaning to me, and I think having it in Italian represents this stage of my life nicely, and I want to memorialize that. Any tips on dealing with the pain in a very sensitive area like the foot?

I've also wanted a phoenix for ages, just can't find the right design. Something similar to Narwhal's bird is what I'm looking for.

    Nice ink everybody!

I've had my tattoo on my foot for about 3 and a half years now and I still get people asking me if it's fresh.  I don't wear 'real' shoes hardly ever though that rub on my tattoo, so that's probably why it hasn't faded.

Jemmi- ahh I wear closed toed shoes alot to work and to family functions so mine gets rubbed. I only got mine in august I think and had the colors touched up once after it healed up to get them nice and bright, ive just heard they fade fast. Hopefully i can keep mine nice and fresh like yours.

Cupcake- I love finding people that have the same knot- so far thats only the 2nd person Ive heard of but I think it is so awesome that people have a connection to the same design that I do.

Daisy- My foot hurt like you wouldnt believe...There is really no way to avoid the pain, there is some numbing gel you can use but from what my FI said (they used it near his nipple haha) it didnt help much. The pain is totally worth it dont worry. I just played games on my phone the whole time to try to distract myself.
