Schedule of events for winter wedding - 3pm ceremony

Any advice on schedule of pre-wedding events for a 3pm ceremony? We aren't going to see each other before the wedding so we have to have it early to catch enough light before sunset.

I find myself starting at 7am for all 9 bridesmaids to get ready in time for pics to start at noon...is that too early?

Re: Schedule of events for winter wedding - 3pm ceremony

  • I'm having a 4:30pm ceremony in December, but only have 3 girls including myself.  We're starting at 10am.

If you have 9 people, do you wind up with 2 hair people? I think they would be able to back into the time for you.
  • Ally McB that's what we're doing.  Pics at noon, wedding at 2.  Work backwards on your timeline.  I was in a wedding last year where I had to show up at 6 am to get my hair done (it was a noon wedding).  7 am is early, but hey, they also don't want their hair looking a mess either.

Thanks, this was helpful. I'm getting married 1/17/15 and would like outdoor pictures before the sun sets. I only have 2 girls and the ceremony will be under an hour. I think we'll be good with a 4pm ceremony, the reception will run from 5p-9p. Does it seem early to end the evening at 9pm??? Maybe I'm just a night owl.
