Need help with a candle light wedding

Hello everyone......I want to have a candle light ceremony but Im not sure what to do here. I want all my guests to hold a lit candle while the ceremony is going on until the end. Is this to much to ask and how would I go about getting them lit? Any...and I mean any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Susie

  • I agree with Liatris 2010. I also wouldn't want to hold a candle too long in case I spilt hot wax, but I am a clutz when I least want to be.

  • candles all over the alter with tall glas pillars aroud them.  i think you should give you guest the option of holding the candle...maybe assign an usher to be in chrage of givign these out.  also how long will your cermeony be? if its 45minutes that me be too long! but here is an idea u can do on the alter

  • Thanks for all your input. I can picture what Im going to do now.

  • We had a candlelight ceremony.  We lined the center aisle with the candelabras that attach to the pews, then seated guests using the outside aisles.  Our church has 4 small windows on each side of the altar, so we put a candle on the ledge of each window.  We had three sets of candleabras at the front of the church; two sets on the altar and one on the floor on either side.  All together, we had close to 100 candles.  We also used small white and gold Christmas lights, to add lighting and mood without taking away from the candlelight.  For the ceremony, the main lights of the sanctuary were dimmed.  It made for a really cool atmosphere.
  • I too am having a candle light ceremony. But instead of having guest hold candles, I am lining the aisle with candles and having guests enter from the outside of the seats.
