in - between time

So, I just finished the giant craziness of the STD which is extremely hard to do when it is just me. None of my BM or MOH live in the same state as me...sad. So now I have 9 months until the wedding and a chunk of time on my hands. Everything is basically all planned out. I guess this will give me more time to focus on the weight loss before the big first fitting in December. Just how do I deal with this time where there is no "wedding" stuff to do...? Anyone in the same position?

Re: in - between time

  • do you have any DIY stuff on your list? That is an uncomfortable time, I always felt like there was something I "should" be doing.
  • We only had a 9 month engagement, so I was pretty much always doing something for the wedding and didn't have a ton of "down time," what with wedding planning, work full-time and Grad school.

But I agree with PP: are you doing DIY projects? It may seem early to start doing them, but you'll be happy you got a jump start when it's the week of the wedding and you aren't scrambling around.

You can start getting ideas on invitations, thinking about favors (if you want any), looking over food options and possibly scheduling cake and menu tastings (if you haven't already done them). If you tell us what all you HAVE done, maybe we can come up with some things you haven't thought about.

cake is done, invitations have been picked out but are a DIY, DJ/entertainment is done, decor is done, bridal party selections are done, transportation done, groomsmen done, food is done,  floral is done, dress is picked out, guest book is done, everything is pretty much done except for those few things that have to be done right before. The DIY projects are too early to start. The invitations are something I want to begin doing after the new year. Not much to reall do right now. I found shoes, hair style, ect. Just losing weight for the first fitting right now is my only goal. But if there are any odd jobs you can think of, it may give me ideas. Thanks ladies!

  • Here are some DIY projects I got out of the way early (and was SO happy to have done)::

Instead of paying to get screened napkins, we bought a stamp on Etsy and stamped our own beverage napkins.
Decorated our centerpieces (although it sounds like you've alredy done that).
H drew our fingerprint guest book.
Card box (we painted a mailbox).
  • I broke my leg and spent 2 and a half months recovering...........I dont recommend it!
