Crazy wedding dreams...is this normal?

I have been having all kinds of crazy wedding dreams.  In the first one, no one showed up.  In the next one, 200 people showed up, but I had forgotten to hire a dj, so everyone was just standing around.  And I had another one last night where I had only finished planning as much as I had in real life (so for example, I had a dress, but no veil, shoes, or jewelry).  Is this normal?  Have you had crazy dreams?  My wedding is still six months away!  Maybe too much planning before bed...

Re: Crazy wedding dreams...is this normal?

  • I didn't think that I would be having dreams either, but the other night I had my first one. I was somewhere and there were all these people there (eventhough they were his family in my dream, I have never seen these people before LOL). I than realized that no invitations had been sent out, but I was going to invite people on Facebook, eventhough the wedding was that day! I than realized there was so much I still had to get done, before I had to start getting ready. The dream wasn't all that nightmarish, but strange. The one good part of it was that my Dad was still alive and helping me out a bit, through the craziness!!!

  • LOL that is so funny that you posted this right now...we're having a destination wedding in Montana and I just booked our trip to look at venues last week. Last night I had a dream that a wolverine shat in our hotel room.

Anyway, I think it's totally normal.

Wolverine shat??? That is hilarious. My nightmare was the same all the time. Over and over again, I dreamed that only 8 people showed up. I never did figure out the significance of 8, but that was always the number!
  • My wedding dreams stopped when I made a strict policy of no thinking of or talking about the wedding in bed.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

    Anniversary

  • We got engaged in May of 2012 and our wedding is this September. I've repeatedly had wedding dreams/nightmares. But mostly in the initial months of being engaged. I kept dreaming I was there waiting and no one showed up... only to realize it was the wrong year. So stupid.

  • Totally normal. Even if I'm not thinking wedding I still have nightmares. Always nightmares, never dreams. It started I'd say maybe a month or so ago which makes sense since I am getting married in April. I think the nervousness of completing everything on time is starting to get to me. I wouldn't worry about it. If anything, whatever goes wrong in your nightmares makes you more aware to make sure you have what was missing.

  • I dreamt that it was about 3pm and no vendors had shown including hair and makeup and all the guests were arriving even though my actual wedding starts at 5. For some reason I didn't have any contact info or contact them way earlier. I called my planner and she said oh I didn't realize that was today...
  • I've had soooooooo many.  It's ridiculous.  But then again, I always dream about big events.  I had a bunch of dreams about being late to prom or missing prom before I went.  I've had dreams about upcoming vacations going terribly.

Last Sunday, I had a dream that I canceled our wedding because FI wouldn't get control of his family so that we could go to the rehearsal dinner.  They were acting crazy, and we were several hours late.  When I told him to handle it, he just shrugged and said no.  So I got angry and told him I would cancel the wedding.  He was just like, "meh" and shrugged, so I cancelled.  Weird stuff.

I woke up from that dream, then fell back asleep and had another dream that the day before our wedding, FI and I decided to cancel our big wedding and just have a private ceremony.

A couple days later, my sister (MOH) tells me SHE had a dream that all of sudden it was the day of my wedding (a couple months early), and she didn't even have her BM dress yet.  She said she felt like calling me and yelling at me for making her have crazy dreams about MY wedding, haha.

    I think it's totally normal.

  • They are totally normal. I've only had two so far. In one my evil ex was one of FI's groomsmen and then talked and was sarcastic the entire ceremony. Then made a huge scene because somehow during the ceremony he got drunk so one of my friends I haven't seen in years showed up and took him away. It was so weird.
The other one wasn't as eventful, me and my bms where all getting ready and everyone was so excited and happy.

  • I have had alot of weird dreams, but the weirdest one was the other night. My wedding is 1 1/2 hours away and in reality we will be going down there the night before for rehersal and everything and staying down there.
In my dream my whole wedding party was at my house and a school bus showed up at my house to take everyone in the wedding party to the wedding (im 28 and have not been on a school bus in years!) Anyway one of my BM said we should stop and watch the high school baseball tournament before going to the venue!! I was like "NO! We cant do that! My sister is waiting at the venue to do our hair! We absolutely do not have time to go to a ball tournament!" I was overrulled and we ended up at the school. So i was like "Fine, i guess i'll just go ahead and get dressed so i wont have to do it later.
So here i am sitting on the bleachers in my wedding gown watching baseball, In my dream my dress was a HUGE ballgown that took up half the seating. Anyway, we stay several hours at this tournament and one of my BM sees a friend of hers who happens to be my FI's ex girlfriend from highschool. She suggests that the ex gets on the bus and comes to the wedding!
This ex (melissa) started telling all the girls we should stop and get new outfits because she has coupons for 50% off, and i'm freaking out saying how we are already late and cannot go do this!! Once again im overrulled so we head to the store and my friend Jessica said she would just fix my hair on the bus, as she walks over to me she spills a coke on my dress and i begin to Bawl!
We get to the store and im in a dirty gown with my hair half up and covered in soda crying because we are going to be late to the wedding and finally im just like Screw it, and start trying on outfits too since no one is listening to me! I woke up then, so i dont know if we ever made it to the Venue!! lol Totally crazy dream!
  • I've had several dreams where I'm suddenly getting married and all I have planned is what I've done so far.  What I freak out about varies, but one time the logical part of my brain was freaking out about not having money saved up to pay our vendors yet.
