Bride and Just Married Tanks

Did anyone purchase a bride tank top or Just Married tank top? I have been looking, but some of them seem to look kinda cheap. Just wondering if anyone purchased one, as i want one of each. I see that the knot has them but the reviews were not that great. Thanks so much for the help.

Re: Bride and Just Married Tanks

  • I haven't bought one, but I did see them in DB yesterday.  I didn't think they looked cheap.  I probably will buy one.
  • I had a hoodie made.  I bought a plain navy hoodie at Old Navy on clearance, then I took it to a local embroidery shop and had "Bride" sewn on the back.  Over all I spent like $15. PIB.  You could do the same with tanks.

Also, Michaels and Wal-mart both have iron-on jeweled "Bride" and "Bridesmaid" letters for less than $5--you could buy those and buy your own tank tops and make them way cheaper than you can find them online.

You'll learn about the "bride tax"--you put the word "bride" on anything and the price goes up 50%.  Smile  Then you'll learn how to circumvent it.
  • LOL heels. That is SO true!

  • Thanks heels great idea, i will start looking around and maybe i can make my own.
  • I didn't do tanks (Winter wedding in Jersey), but I had my own hoodie made. I did a google search, and there are many companies that do all of that stuff, but like Heels said, they invoke the Bride tax if it's blatant wedding merchandise site.

I also didn't want something that said "bride" or "future Mrs. ..." on it, because I wanted to attempt wearing it again. I used Threadsmith.com and just got my wedding date with a claddagh in our wedding colors on it. I bought 2 (One in black, one in white) and paid for the rush shipping (I decided to get them like 2 weeks before the wedding), and that came out to about $65 including tax. Considering what most "bride" sites charge, I got a pretty decent deal. If there was an embroidery or silk-screening place I actually trusted in my area (We have them, they aren't the best reviewed, though), I probably would have just done what Heels did with a cheap sweatshirt.

... which I actually just went and checked Threadsmith to see if they do tank tops as well (The defiinitely do t-shirts, and they have bridal logos), but the site is currently down for maintanence.

I would also ditto the idea to DIY it. I'm kinda of dumb when it comes to that kind of DIY, so I was fine with paying for the convenience of somebody else doing it, but if you're crafty, go for it.
