Wedding/Bridal Shoes--COLOR

I am considering wearing either red or blue shoes on my wedding day.  Anyone else go this route, or do you prefer traditional white bridal shoes?  I went to a wedding a year ago and the bride wore red shoes and I fell in love with the idea instantly! Burgundy/red is probably going to be one of my color themes too.Blue is just because it would take care of the "something blue" part of the rhyme ;)However, there is something to be said with going traditional and wearing white wedding shoes, as long as they are in a sweet modern style!

  • wear whatever you want...honestly though, when will you ever wear those white shoes again? pick something you love, will be comfortable in, and have the chance to wear again.I'm wearing brown Chuck Taylors ;-)

  • Mine are champagne, because my dress is tea length, but if it was floor length, I would have worn blue shoes:)
  • Unless your dress is short, it'll just be a pop of color because your feet won't really be seen much.  That said, the embellishments on my dress are gold, so I got gold shoes.  There's a link to them in my bio if you'd like to see.

  • I want to wear colourful shoes at my wedding. I like the idea of having just a bit of colour in my outfit. I want a coloured sash or ribbon or bow or something on my dress, so I will get my shoes to match.
He pretty much had me at "hello".

  • Id go with color - Im wearing burgandy color shoes.  It matches my colors and the shoes just look stunning.  But Id have to agree, make sure they are comfy or els its going to be a very long night!  lol
  • My dress has a lot of silver beading and embroidery so my shoes are silver. But wear whatever you want.  Colored shoes look great!
  • I'm wearing bright green dressy looking flip flops. I bought them for wearing on my wedding day, but I will wear them afterwards.
  • I'm wearing brown sandals because they are comfortable and they have enough of a heel that I won't need to have my dress altered for length.  Yes, I am cheap!  But I figure that nobody will see them anyway so who cares???

  • I've got gold heels for the ceremony since that will match the detail on my dress.  For the reception I'm changing into a pair of ivory Birkenstocks that I've had for years and are super-comfortable.  They're very me and I'll be able to wear them all night.  I doubt anyone will even notice.  I think the red is a cute idea, especially if it goes with your other colors- that's probably what I would go with if I wanted a really colorful shoe.
  • I'm trying my hardest to find pink cowboy boots to wear. But I'm kind of a cheapy chick so I cant bring myself to pay $50 for shoes. But color is so much fun! Theres a chance no one will see it, but if they do its a fun surprise! And you could do blue undies or a blue ribbon pinned under your dress to take care of the something blue.

  • I'm a shoe girl myself... I am in search of the perfect pair of BLUE shoes for my own wedding. Just becuase I think thats cute. My friend wore hot pink heels, and my sister red that laced up her leg with ribbons. Do something that makes you feel fun and fabulous! :)
  • I love it! I think it sounds so cute! Plus, like everyone else said, chance are nobody will see it! I had a friend that had lime green as one of her colors and wore lime green shoes under her dress!!
  • Thanks, ladies! I'm still leaning towards blue or red peep toes.  Maybe satin? hm...To me, the shoes are important...people will see them during the garter toss! ;)
