Name Change?

When should you start that process?? I just looked at my knot checklist and it said I should be starting that now??? Can anyone help me out? Thanks ladies!!

    after you have your marriage license signed (so therefore, after the wedding), go to the social security office and get it changed. Then you can change it at the MVA, passport, medical offices, etc.

    We got our marriage cert the day we returned from the HM too, and I made about 30 copies of it, because here in the South (maybe everywhere since we all seem to be paranoid these days), I had to write individual letters with pen-on-paper signatures and attach/enclose the photocopy in order to change my name. You can't really "start" changing your name now.  But you could start a list of all the places you'll need to contact about your name change.  Most places will say on their website what they need (original letter/signature/copy of cert or just SHOW the cert or whatever).  And that list will be much longer than most people think...  I think I did over 35 name changes with various places.
