Maybe a stupid question....

Is it possible to "over clean" an e-ring. I clean mine about once or twice a week and am now wondering if it is to much, is it?

Re: Maybe a stupid question....

 • I think it depends on the material.  Mine is platinum and I clean it that often and it's fine.
 • If it's white gold over cleaning may mean that you will need to get it re-rhodiumed more frequently, I believe that all white gold needs to go through the process where they add rhodium to keep it's colour.Probably best to check with a jeweller
 • If there is a diamond on be careful with that as well. Diamonds are hard so they can take a lot but they are also really expensive to replace Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman";}
 • My Jewler told me not to clean my ring myself (he's a little anal.) He wants to be the only one to clean it.  If it has any smaller dimonds along with the main one, I would be careful.  They may come loose.
 • My jewler gave me solution. On the insturction is tells you how often to clean. I just place mine in the solution for about a minute and blot off the access. Mine recommends  a 30 second soak once a day. I clean it about once a month.

 • My jeweler gave me solution also.  His wife keeps her ring in the solution every night and rinses it off in the morning.  It does not hurt the ring at all.  I'm not that good about keeping mine so clean.Just make sure to check your prongs every so often which is probably why the jeweler mentioned above wanted to clean the ring himself.  If the prongs catch on something, they may become loose and a lost stone could result.
