Photographer issue

I researched my photographer is depth, met with the person, and loved everything that I saw from the examples they had to show.  As part of our package I received engagement pictures.  The problem is that they turned out terrible.  Some of the angles used made my fiance look really heavy (he's not), and I had my eyes closed in more than half of them.  The person has offered to refund my money and cancel my contract.  My bridesmaids and my fiance's mom think we should take it and find someone else.  What would you do?  Any suggestions?

Re: Photographer issue

  • That's nice of them to offer to refund your money, it shows that they atleast own up to their mistakes. I would probably find someone else, I wouldn't want that to happen on my wedding day, you can't retake those.
  • Take the money and find another photographer.
  • Next time you research your photographer, ask to be given access to all of the pictures of few of his/her recent weddings.  This will give you a better idea of their abilities.  It's easy to choose 50 great shots from 100 weddings - it's a lot more difficult to get 50 great shots from one wedding. If you can get your money back, take it and run.Check your local board for recommendations of affordable and reliable vendors

  • I agree take the money and run. My photographer took so many pictures in 2 hours that we had over 120 beautiful engagment pictures. I am sure there were some bad ones with our eyes closed, but she didnt show us those and she edited out things to make us look even better. some mistakes are going to happen but your photographer should have know after they took the pic your eyes were closed and they should have taken others to compensate that. I think they did a poor job from what you said.

  • Yes, take the money and run. Our photog took HORRIBLE engagement photos and it only went down hill from there. The wedding pics ended up being not so swell also. Things weren't centerd or in focus or the shot was just missed altogether. Wish I had had the chance you do. Good luck on your new search.
  • Thanks everyone I appreciate your help.  I am planning to change my photographer to someone who I know and trust.
