Yay Me!!!!

I figured out a date for the wedding 10/16/09 the weekend of the "sweetest day" holiday. .....now all I need is to find a reception hall, and a church, and bridesmaids dresses, and flowers, of and wedding favors...oh and ..... lol! I guess when you have such a long list it's exciting to finally make a major decision. ~Team Taylor~

  • Amy-I'm not trying to burst your bubble here, really, I'm not.  But don't get too locked into that date. When you visit reception venues, you might find out that the venue you love the most is already booked for the date you want.  (And I'm assuming you meant 10/16/10, not 10/16/09 right?).  And.....you might find a church that will agree to your getting married there, but they can't accommodate that date.So go in hoping for your date, but have a couple of back-ups, just in case.  You might just need them.  I hope you don't but you never know.GL
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146

  • I agree with Trix.  My husband and I are CPAs and we wanted to get married the weekend after April 15th, that way our anniversary would never be during busy season.  Guess what, it didn't happen.  Every venue in or near town was booked a year out.  We had to put our wedding off until October of last year.  That was fine and all, but it's a good thing we didn't go around telling people that April whatever was our wedding date.Stina, I think it's something the card companies came up with to make more money.  I think it's like Valentine's Day with even less historical significance.
  • :( Well I am hoping for that weekend, and we are trying for a Friday wedding to save $$. Please keep your fingers crossed for me. ***yes 10/16/10**** ~Team Taylor~
  • If you do it early enough I'm sure you'll get it!Good Luck!
  • haha stina... sweetest day is another "valentines day" but only in a few states. I live in MI and we have it. not sure which other states have it... maybe IL and Ohio also. SWEETEST DAY is like reverse though... the day for the women to treat their guys.
