Engraving rings?

Is anyone engraving your rings?  If so what would you put on the grooms ring ?.  I don't think anything will fit on mine.

This is completely friggin ridiculous of FI, but it's what he wants.  And, it'll be on the inside of his ring, so no one will even know what a giant nerd he is.  He wants "one ring to rule them all." In Elvin, a language that JRR Tolkein invented.  It's ridiculous and not romantic at all, but it's what he wants.  So I'm gonna try my hardest to get it done for him.  As for me, my band is gonna be tiny and I don't think anything will fit on it.  God, I can't believe I just admitted that.  It embarrasses me even though this is a message board full of strangers.

My precious precious lol I love it and I don’t even know that much about the movie. I am marring a nerd too its okay. We are having Luke and Leia a song from one of the Star Wars movies in our processional that FI will walk down the aisle to. This is the most awesome thing for him to have Star Wars in the wedding. Most people wont even recognize it, its not one of the more familiar songs from the movie. Back to the question, we are not having anything put in our rings. I guess if we were I would want it to be something personal between us, and it could possibly be the same for both rings I would think.

I think if we do get ours engraved it will be just our wedding dates.

I am planning on having his engraved as a surprise to him. I haven't decided which one yet, but I will put a Scripture reference from our ceremony and the date.

We're getting "...and they lived happily ever after" on his.  I'd like that on mine, but if that won't work between the two bands, I'll just get "happily ever after."

I must be an embarrassing nerd too... I'm a Tolkien freak. If DH asked for that I'd be all to happy to get it. lol.  I bet if his ring was engraveable he probably would have wanted something like that.

Nothing fits on mine either.I got Eternity on my FI's ring.You can get names or the date. Or maybe a saying thats special between the both of you. Thats why I chose Eternity, because we always say that to each other.

My E Ring has All My love-travis and Wedding ring has our wedding date. His Ring has Eternally yours. It was his idea to have it done..I love it..it our secret message to each other..

I wear my grandmother's wedding ring on my right hand, and it is engraved "AHA to RKL 11-20-1917."  I love the fact that it's close to one hundred years old and their date and initials are  still legible.  She wore it for over sixty years.

Maybe i'm just a geek but i love the "one ring to rule them all" engraving idea, i think it's cute as hell but i'm weird like that lol. So i had to open my big mouth and my boyfriend mentioned this :Him: " So what would you say if i wanted to get our world of warcraft character names engraved on our wedding bands since it's how we met ?"Me: "Omg i love that idea i think it's so sweet"More proof i am a geek but i love it and for us it obviously has personal resonance. I guess engraviong to me should be something personal , not necessarily have to be romantic but obviously meaningful to the person.  i'm lucky though and my boyfriend is natually romantic i guess lol. There is always room for a compromise i am sure

Love the stories! So I was going to surprise FI but instead had to read him him the post about "One Ring"  So he told me what he would like.  He didn't want that but likes our 4 initials together.   It's something we have used on other things.  I would like Kiss Kiss.  That is what I would text to him when he was overseas.  We'll see.

It's going to be a suprise for FH but I'm going to have "You're my favorite" engraved on his wedding band.  It's a silly little saying we say to each other.
