Any Ideas?

I am currently living in Edmonton, but my wedding is in Toronto, We are trying to figure out a way to add to the invitation that there will also be a reception in Edmonton for anywho who is unable to make the trip to Toronto.Any ideas how to make this work?

Re: Any Ideas?

  • On our invites we had the normal info on the page...and then at the bottom corner in a smaller font it said reception to be held at such and such date time place...that way you dont have to make separate ivites and it's all on one page :)
  • I think most people just do an insert in the invitation with the information for the second reception, and reply cards that ask for RSVPs for both.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • Well, you are having a wedding and reception in Toronto. If someone else wants to have a cookout or open house in Edmonton sometime after your wedding, and you are invited, you can certainly GO. But you can't really turn it into a second wedding reception - that would look like a total gift grab. Like these people weren't good enough to actually witness the wedding ceremony, but they ARE good enough to get you a gift and drop it off at your girt-collection party in Edmonton.
  • Kristen - I think she's saying for the people that CAN'T make it, there will be another reception.  She said: "who is unable to make the trip to Toronto."  NOT for those who are not invited to Toronto.Alexbrad - I think a small card or insert can read something like: For those of you unable to make the trip to Toronto, we will also be celebrating at home on xyz date at abc place.GL and HTH!To clarify, please make sure you're inviting everyone to BOTH.
