Wedding ring question

I have been checking out wedding rings, but haven't spoke with a jeweler yet. I wanted to see if any of you ladies could help me. My ring is a 1/2 carat. This is it:The wedding rings I like are: This is 1/4 caratThis is 1/2 caratWould the 1/2 carat ring overpower my engagement ring? Obviously I need to go to the store to check them out, but opinions?

Re: Wedding ring question

  • I think either one would be fine.  It doesn't have a single, center, large diamond so I don't think it will overpower the e-ring.

  • I love both of them. I don't think the 1/2 carat would overpower your beautiful e-ring.
  • I have the exact same e-ring (1/2 carat center stone as well) and I don't think the 1/2 carat band would overpower it. I personally like the 1/4 carat better in this case, just because I like the look of the inter-locking sets. Although, I'm not sure how much my opinion counts because I wound up getting a band that doesn't "match" my e-ring.

  • How come it doesn't "match"?
  • It's hard to explain it, other than like the 2 rings weren't made for each other (Like how the 2 you're looking at were designed with your e-ring or similar e-rings in ming). E-ring and w-ring didn't come from the same store ... and actually the w-ring I picked isn't even advertised as a w-ring (Kay calls it an "anniversary band"). I just picked what I liked. • Well you're the one who has to wear it, so you should get what you like whether they match or not! :)
  • Hahaha, that's exactly what I said. A few of my friends and family were a tad "horrified" when I said the rings don't match. Then I showed them the one I picked, suddenly, it's all "Oh, that's so YOU", lol. I'm related to and friends with some real weirdos, haha.

  • I just need to go to the store and look at all different things. A woman from Hannoush just told me that your wedding ring should not overpower your engagement ring, so you should get a lesser carat size...?
  • I think the 1/2 carat ring is beautiful and it will look great next to that gorgeous engagement ring!

  • I think either would be fine.  Like you say, you need to check them out in person.  As far as 'less carats' for the wedding ring goes, it isn't like the wr has a centre stone so I don't think it'd overpower the e-ring.
  • I just wanted to say that the tiny diamons are difficult to set into a band, and often fall out and need to be replaced. Go with the larger diamonds in a channel setting.
