  • OP here is some serious advice:

I often get mood swings when I am PMSing. I have come up with a protocol.

If I am feeling upset, I slow myself down and ask myself "Am I being irrational?". Odds are the answer is no. If the answer is no I don't post anything on the internet or call or text any family, friends or FI.

If the answer is "yes", I wait a couple hours still and reevaluate because it still probably wasn't rational behavior/feelings. If after awhile you have determined that there is actual good reason to be upset, go for it. Usually I will run it by FI or my sister just to confirm that I am being rational.

[QUOTE]I'm just saying that there is a reason different boards exist. Take advantage of them. It irks me when I'm trying to find answers to questions I have and a board is littered with posts that have nothing to do with the topic. I wasn't trying to be a bitch, so don't take it that way. Oh, and since you asked, here it is:

    FOR REALZ?!

Grumblepants. . .please get some new pants and grow up cause you're taking all of this WAY too seriously.

P.s. Grumblepants, how would you suggest inviting a blender to a wedding, because I've been really curious about that one.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Frustrations!!! : I tried to invite my toaster but he never returned the RSVP.  I had to call him and tell him that if I didn't hear from him by a week before the wedding I'd have to assume he was a no.  He never called back.  Then he showed up to the wedding with my crock pot in tow!  I didn't give him a plus 1!

  • Since I'm inviting my crock pot to the wedding, I'm going to need to invite my blender. I don't want her to feel left out. But the blender isn't in my budget. Waahhh

[QUOTE]Does anyone remember when karenshopping tried to lecture us on staying on the appropriate boards?  Am I old?  I'm old, aren't I.  Or I'm PMS'ing, and the hormones have messed with my long term memory. OP, you're sounding a little whackadoodle.  Lurk more.

Ahhh Karenshopping! Holy crap she was the queen of stupid random polls that were ALL shopping related.

  • Guys!! What about the mixer?! You cant forget the mixer. Oh oh, and the Vacuum! You could even give the vacuum a job on the 'cleanup crew' ;)

Mostly though, you can't not invite the blender. Blender is the life of the party, you know, aside from the bride and groom.

[QUOTE]First of all, I posted this in Chit-Chat...not Honeymoons or Ceremony Ideas, so how is this not on-topic? Second, I know I don't have to click on them, but it is a pain when 5 posts in a row are NWR. It takes away from the more important wedding posts, which is what this site is about. Hence the name "TheKnot." Third, if the people on this board have formed little communities, etc, why can't they talk about NWR stuff on the Life Boards...which is why those boards were created, I'm sure.

Thanks for the lecture mom ;)

[QUOTE]Invite the blender as the crock pot's plus 1.  Problem solved.

Omg, why didn't I think of that? Oh but wait, I'm pretty sure the blender is in a relationship with my toaster oven. But, I don't really like toaster oven so I don't have to invite him right?

And here I was thinking my FI was a nut for wanting to have a stuffed penguin in our wedding.

Sounds like GrumbleGirl's got her panties in a bunch for no apparent reason.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Frustrations!!! : Are they engaged or married?  If not they aren't a social unit and it;s fine to split them up.  It would be made even better if the crock pot realized how much sexier the blender is than the toaster oven and dumped the toaster oven when he got home.  You could kill 2 birds with one stone- the toaster oven would find out how much you didn't like her and the blender and crock pot can live happily ever after.

[QUOTE]I know technically you're not supposed to break up social units because it's really rude, but I think I might be the special-est of all snowflakes. Crock Pot and I have been besties since college. We haven't lived near each other for a long time, but we've kept in touch on Facebook. Crock Pot had been dating George Foreman Grill and over the course of a few years I became really good friends with George Foreman Grill. We'd exercise together and she was a really good weight loss coach. Well, Crock Pot and George Foreman Grill would get into these heated arguments that would last 6-8 hours and decided to break up. Now Crock Pot is dating Silly Straw and that beeyotch is crazy! I really don't want to invite Silly Straw to my wedding. She's really rude and has a twisted sense of humor. Plus I think it would upset George Foreman Grill. What do you all think? Oh, and if you're going to be mean or tell me that it would be rude not to invite Silly Straw you can either not respond or put your responses on the "You are NOT a Special Snowflake" board.
