Photoshoot - What I learned

Figure I would move this to a thread of its own since I learned alot!

1.) I still say #1 is to bring comfy shoes for when you walk.  Every time you move, change into them

2.) Bring extra outfits.  Lighting, bg colors, and even just idea changes happen.  I planned on 2 outfits, I brought 6.  I wore 5 :)  Same goes for guys!  Albert planned on 2, I brought 4, he wore all 4.

3.) Accessories - Don't forget them!  I think we had the most fun figuring out which earrings/bracelet would pop more on camera.  Shoes, earrings, necklaces, headbands, belts...

4.) Younger photogs HATE matchy matchy outfits.  This was something Stina stressed to me.  "Matchy matchy is cliche and outdated, and limits your photogs creativity."  You don't want to clash, but you should show your own style

5.) Limit the SPF.  I am fair skinned so I am a sunscreen whore.  That being side, it turns white under even the slightest flash.  Use it super sparingly and try to use a moisturizer without it on your face under makeup

6.) On the subject of makeup - do NOT use translucent powder.  It also turns white.  Opt for something with a bronze or yellow undertone to make your skin look healthier.  Also, bring your makeup bag and don't do anything out of your comfort zone.  If you think you look different/weird, everyone will (and skip the sticky lipgloss for outside shoots.  Sticky lips + wind blown hair = :( )

7.) Send your photographer inspirational images of what you like, but don't expect them to copy them.  I sent Stina 15 photos plus shots of our outfit pieces to give her an idea of my style and preference.  She ran with it from there.  They are artists, let them create

8.) Bring a basket of fun props.  Even if you don't use them all, you won't have boring "typical" pictures

9.) Throw the rulebook out.  You and your FI are your own people and have your own style.  We are not formal people.  While we took the pretty pics, we had the most fun exploring the city for interesting spots.

10.) Have fun.  Feel free to make silly faces, laugh hysterically, accidently trip on the sidewalk because you caught your heel in a hole (I told you I was clumsy).  The best shots are those moments when you are just being you.

Gosh i cried the whole 5hrs of our marriage preparation classes...
