How and why did this tradition start?
Many I am old fashioned or close minded But I do not understand it at all?
How does going to a strip club and getting naked skank all over you honor your soon to be wife and marriage? I understand the need to have fun with the boys, But go paint balling, sky diving, fishing, bowling...whatever!
I have recently see 2 women break off engagements due to this,
One saw pics of her FI in very very intimate poses with the stripper...
And another found out her FI actually let the stripper in their hotel room go down on him because he was sooo drunk and his brother paid her!!!...They all tried to cover it up but eventually it was her own brother who told her....bullshit!
Re: Why are Stripclubs the go to thing for Bachelor parties?
I just wonder, would he have cheated? Under normal surroundings?
Or did he only cheat because he was very drunk and his brother PAID a stripper to go down on him? (That to me made her a skank)
He really was such a nice guy, they were together 5 years and she never distrusted him...
I guess I have just seen so many issues arise from it...
Oh and P.S. I think Motel 6's can be way skankier than any stripper.

hahaha :o)
Man she just got me sooo worked up...
I feel for her so much, you know?
Anyhow thanks for letting me vent..
You don't have to be comfortable with the idea, or even tell him you are okay with him going, but if the only reason you are concerned about it is because you think he might take compromising pictures, or get a BJ from a stripper, then you have some major trust issues and shouldn't be getting married anyways.

I mean, unless Im mistaken. . .it takes two to tango. And you didn't just call her a skank, you made a generalized blanket statement.
There are many factos that caused that relationship to fail. Going into a business environment isn't one of them.
Ya I agree I worded it wrong, I didn't mean to make such a blanket statement, But I typed that in the heat of the moment after listening to her vent.
In Response to Re: Why are Stripclubs the go to thing for Bachelor parties? : Perhaps you should take a hard look at the types of people you surround yourself with...
Posted by ILoveMilkDuds
Funny enough I surround myself with a great group of people, close nit, family oriented, hard working regular folks...
Somehow this issue has just happened to find it's way into a few different friends lives the past few years.
I really don't think this is the actual norm for bachelor parties though. Most of the people I know who have had one didn't go to a strip club, H included. H has been to strip clubs before and thought they were lame and gross, and he wanted to do something he actually enjoyed for his party instead of what people thought he was "supposed" to do. I wouldn't have cared if he did go to one though.
In Response to Re: Why are Stripclubs the go to thing for Bachelor parties? : Yeah, cheaters are totally family oriented :-/ Open your eyes!
Posted by LingerLonger1
Well isn't that the same as me using skank as a blanket term for strippers because one was skank enough to be paid for a blow job?
Just because one guy got a blow job from a stripper doesn't mean all my friends are cheaters or not family oriented...
In total I have seen one wedding ruined because of the very skanky pictures/poses from the bachelor party camera, one ruined due to the paid blow job, and one hit a few bumps because of an agreement not to go, yet her FI went anhow.

So if you knew a bunch of people that got DUIs, would you assume that all bars are bad? Probably not, you just have a lot of irresponsible friends who probably would have drank and drove no matter where they got drunk at. Many people are capable of drinking in bars and finding a responsible way home, just like many people are capable of going to strip clubs without cheating on their FIs.
It's irrationally irritating to me that you refuse to start your posts at the damn top of the text box.
Naked skank huh? I see you've never known anyone who has to strip to pay the bills. That's cool. <strong>It's irrationally irritating to me that you refuse to start your posts at the damn top of the text box.</strong>

Im glad I'm not the only one. That and the double spacing between paragraphs or whatever and it seems centered. What's up with that? And why on earth does it bug me so much. . *face palm
Maybe because I am typing it on my blackberry?
Sorry...Yeesh I just can't make anybody happy. Oh well.
By the way, I'm glad the knotties are able to hash things out and disagree on things or just agree to disagreee, and move on to the next topic, much better than the immature ways of a previous chat board I belonged to (non wedding)
Like I said, it was irrationally irritating. But I think your argument for why strip clubs sucks is irrational too, so there's that.
Everything the light touches is my kingdom.
I agree with your values, I don't generally approve of strip clubs, or even porn, and married men who indulge in those things give me the creeps, which is why I'm marrying a man who isn't particularly interested in that type of thing, and men who are marry women who aren't bothered by it (in a perfect world).
However, when the time comes, if he and his guys want to go to a strip club, more power to them, it's a tradition, and, in a weird way, a celebration of the possible life they are trading in for the life they will have with you. I trust that he can go and watch naked ladies dance around, without being tempted into a blowjob, or any other compromising situations, because he's a good guy. Good guys don't do cheaty things, weather they are in a convent or a brothel.
edit: oops, looks like things have moved on a little, sorry, this took me a while to type.
In Response to Re: Why are Stripclubs the go to thing for Bachelor parties? : I actually just read somewhere that sure, people do irresponsible things when they're drunk. But it's not because they were drunk. It's because they just don't care. If a guy cheats on his fiancee with a stripper at his bach party, he probably would cheat on her "under normal surroundings."<strong> Is anyone else sick of this topic on TK? FFS. ETA - anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but</strong><strong> I don't think strippers get paid to go down on people. They get paid to dance around and take their clothes off. If someone gets paid to perform fellatio, they're what's called a hooker.</strong>

OP- don't be so quick to judge, I'm sure you're NoAngel either. Sorry, I had to. <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" />

hahaha that made me laugh...Well we can agree to disagree.
Also, I don't really think they suck, I think that what I have seen and heard that has happened at strip clubs makes me wonder why it is such a pre wedding tradition,I guess maybe to weed out the cheaters could be one reason? haha
I was at a strip club recently with a jack and jill bachelorette party (and I planned the girls side of it) where both the guys and girls had a blast together.

It's NOT a tradition and strip clubs do not 'weed' out the cheaters. . .if a person is going to cheat, they're just as likely to do it at their job, at a restaurant, at the library . . etc.
Please stop making the argument that strip clubs = cheaters.
Everything the light touches is my kingdom.
If I were going to cheat, I'd do it at the library, because that makes for a doubly awesome story. And paper cuts. Karma!
Posted by J&K10910
I have a friend that did this. . . hahaha

There is (was?) a stripclub around here called <strong>the Library</strong>.
Maybe I don't see the point in women getting all bent out of shape over strip clubs because there are far more important things to worry about. My fiance and I are open and honest about everything, and I'm not really the jealous type.
