ring and gloves

As it is turning into the Arctic Tundra here in NY, I have been wearing winter gloves pretty regularly.  I'm noticing that my engagement ring and wedding band are actually digging into my finger and causing pain.  Does anyone else have this happen?  Have you found certain gloves that are better or worse?  Any thoughts on what can be done to fix the problem?  I think it's because my diamond sits pretty high up based on the style of the ring.  I do, however, love my ring, so changing it or not wearing it are not options in my case.

If I wear gloves I just don't wear my e-ring or I take my e-ring with me and slip it on when I am in the comfort of a warm building.

I don't have a problem with my wedding band when wearing gloves.

Edit:  Have you thought about mittens instead of gloves?  Mittens may allow a bit more wiggle room for your fingers and rings.

Could you get gloves that are a size too large for your hand? That might give you the extra room you need.

ETA: I wear a glove/mitten hybrid and I've never had an issue wearing my e-ring with them. I have a more low-profile setting though so that might be why.

my current gloves are the combo. . . ."glittens" as I like to call them.  Straight up mittens might be the way to go though.

<div>I love my hybrids! If you're going to go straight mitten I would recommend going with ones that have grippy things on the palm part to make driving easier/safer. Or leather ones.</div>

[QUOTE]It might also be your fingers swelling rather than the gloves.  They do that in the winter.

I find that my fingers shrink in the winter with the cold.  The glittens I have currently are like a chunky knit I guess.  Maybe i'll try on new ones
  • I wear latex or nitrile gloves every day at work.  I turn my engagement ring to the side so the diamond lies on my pinky finger.  No snags, no troubles.

I don't wear gloves often in the winter.  I'm outside a lot, too.  I'm weird.
  • I make sure the gloves are not that snug fitting.   My ring is low profile though.

  • My leather gloves are a size bigger and all is fine.

<div>Thanks.   He is so damn funny. I've had dogs before, but never bulldogs.  OMG, they have such personalities that other dogs just don't have.  He makes us laugh everyday.      </div><div>
</div><div>Oh and he is a "defective bulldog".  Okay, maybe not officially (his in prefect health actually). This dog wants to go on 2+mile walks everyday.  Then on shorter walks a few more times a day.  Then after that he needs to play tug-of-war and fetch.   ALL DAY LONG.   His is the complete opposite of a fat lazy bulldog. It's more like having a lab.</div>
