Umbra Ether Frame HELP!!!!

I ordered an Umbra Ether Frame to use for my sand ceremony and I have NOOO idea how to get it open.  Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

Here are instructions.  Usually you would actually do the sand ceremony with vases and do this frame project later after the wedding.
