So I don't really cook. I know how to make a few things (pizza - completely from scratch, dough and all - pasta and hoagies) that's about it. There are days when I feel like I won't be a good wife b/c I don't know how to cook. My sisters always cook for their husbands (but weird things FI and I won't eat) and my mom usually always cooks for my dad. To back up a bit:
When I was younger, at the age to learn to cook, my mom worked 3 jobs because my brother was deathly sick and my dad was in the ARMY. I was only taught to make a few things to basically get by and help out a little. I'm the youngest of four, so it was always hard for my mom or sisters to teach me.
Back to reality: I know, as an adult, I should learn... but I'm not sure where to start! I can follow a recipe, but FI usually does the cooking. Does anyone have tips on cooking "for beginners"? I'd love to cook and be a wonderful wife like my mom and sisters, but just don't know where to start.
EDIT: I'm not saying those who don't cook aren't great wives, because they are, just in mine and FI family - it's always been the wife who cooks the majority!
