I'm looking for some good fiction novels to read during my engagement that have to do with marriage, commitment, communication, love, etc. Any thoughts would be appreciated!!
1. The Time Traveler's Wife, it's a book about an amazing romance 2. The World According to Garp, it's not a love story but there is an incredibly strong marriage in their and it's a phenomenal book 3. Anna Karenina, it's a book about love stories.
I don't know any books about being engaged, but those are some good books about love. Also, The Year of Magical Thinking (about losing a spouse), Pride and Predjudice (duh) and The Women (a historical fiction novel about Wright's 3 wives) fun, well written and all books I read since my engagement.
If you're just looking for some mindless romance novels, I just read the first book in the Bride Quartet series by Nora Roberts. It was REALLY enjoyable and an easy read. I'm looking forward to reading the others.

Bridal Bargains was my favorite. I also looked at Planning a Wedding Budget for Dummies.
Another vote for 5 Love Languages. You and FI should read it together. We did it in pre-marital counseling and it was great!
As far as novels, you might like The Wedding by Nicholas Sparks (author of The Notebook). I personally hated it but I also hate the Notebook, so I'm kind of in the minority. It's at least a cute story and it has a surprise ending.
My mom bought me "The don't sweat guide for newlyweds" by Rchard Carlson Ph. D.
The book is something that should be read before you get married though. Somethings in there are stuff you hear from friends in family but then he expands on the topics and explains them in ways that make you go "Oh, okay!" It's like a wake up call.
In a world of crazy we need as many hugs as we can get.
I just started reading Toss the Bride by www.amazon.com/Jennifer-Manske-Fenske/e/B001KDFD44/ref=sr_ntt_srch_lnk_1?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1274571825&sr=1-1">Jennifer Manske Fenske and it is really good. It is funny and light and easy to read. She plays an assistant to a wedding planner and has to work weddings for bridezillas. I got it off amazon. I also received The Five Love Languages for my shower and am looking forward to reading it!
