Wedding Vows & Ceremony Discussions

Genius solution for awkward time gap between ceremony and cocktail hour!

So, we've booked our ceremony at this historically awesome church that never made updates and still to this day doesnt have electricity for lighting.  Since we're having a fall wedding (yeah, we're going for the formally rustic feel), we have no other choice but to have the ceremony no later than 2pm for the sake of natural heat and light and we can safely assume that it will be around 3 ish after we kick everyone out the door of the church.

So,  where's everyone going after the ceremony and before the 5:30 cocktail hour (which is only 10 minutes from the hotel)?   COOKIE HOUR at the hotel!!!  Oh yeahhhhh!  Similar to afternoon tea, we'll have out coffee and tea, with a wide arrangement of cookies.  Our hotel of choice is giving us the room and setup in exchange for our reservations there (plus a $100 clean up fee) and throwing in the coffee, tea, milk, sugars and cream!  This also encourages our guests to reserve a room at the hotel where we're running shuttles to and from the reception, and helps give back the favor!

Do you think it will be too much sociallizing for the guests though?  More than an hour of cookie hour and then off to another social hour for cocktails??
