I think her "job" for the past decade (or however long they have been together) has been to learn how to be a royal.  Period.

I get that she really hasn't proved herself as a career woman or charity worker, etc but I am sure there is a crap load of things involved in learning to become the perfect royal lady.

In the end, if all she wanted to become since being with Will was to marry her love and have babies then who are we to judge.  It would kind of be the same as judgeing a woman who dreams or has a plan to be a stay at home housewife/mother.  Just because she hasn't done things that may give her "substance" doesn't mean she isn't a good hearted person.  She supports and loves her husband.  If that is all she ever wants to do in her life then more power to her.

I understand that she is in a position of power and influence but that is only because we (as a society) have put her on the pedestal.  We look up to royals and celebrities to see the "right" way to live and then when they don't meet our expectations we feel let down and mad that they aren't the "perfect" people we thought they were.
