UPDATE on ignorant people :)

SOOO...I called our State Department of Heath and Family Services(in our state's capital today) and told them the situation and how my FI's mother has reported this multiple times but nothing is ever done and they have been completely incompetent. They are sending someone(a surprise visit) from our State Capital to NOT ONLY investigate her case, but to investigate the entire office because they have had multiple complaints about the office in this town! They said they would need to get written and verbal testimonies from not only me, but those who witness this and are willing- which are me, my FI, my FMIL, FSIL, FI's grandmother, and FI's uncle-that should be PLENTY of people!

I also called my Aunt today and she informed me that they are ALWAYS taking in people and they never turn anyone down. I gave my Aunt her name and info. She said they would contact the State Deprtment to determine the status of her case(if they were open to discuss it with them) in the next few weeks and whether they see fit to remove her from the home and if so, they would try to get her!

You have NO IDEA how happy I am right now. I feel so good that I did  this and feel even better for her because I know she will get the care she needs!

That's good news!  I'm so glad you managed to get people moving on this case.  I hope it all turns out for the best.

Wow.  I'm very impressed.  A lot of people would talk about how horrible a situation is but then not do anything about it.  But you followed through, and look at what you accomplished.  You should be very proud of yourself for making a difference in this woman's life and improving her situation.

Bravo to you!  It takes a special person to really follow through on something and to do the right thing which sadly, so many times people turn a blind eye and consider it someone else's problem.  Good for you for taking the time to do this....I'm sure it was meaningful for you to know that the State is looking into this further.

Good for you!  I'm so happy you followed up on this.  It is so important to help lend a voice to those who often go unheard.  And as happy as I am about your personal situation, it sounds like the the office in that town is going to be looked at more thoroughly, so who knows how many other people out there may benefit from your actions.  You should be really proud of yourself, I may not know you, but I'm feeling proud of you!

Keep documenting, especially as they may get pissy and complain after the surprise visit.

It really made my day to know that there are people on here who are willing to work for someone's else well being. I've been a lurker on this board for a while but I just wanted to say that I read your previous post and you did such an incredible thing by calling and trying to help this woman out.  No one should have to live in the way she is and you are such an incredible person for taking on the situation and doing something about it, like pp's have said so many would say it's horrible but not act so good for you for acting on your feelings!
