Venting about Knotties

Re: Venting about Knotties

  • When you post in a public forum, expect all kinds of responses.  I've vented in the boards before as well and had a few people tell me I sounded like a brat, whiner, etc.  Did I get offended?  No.  Instead I went back, re-read my original post, and saw where I could have been misinterpreted OR where I actually sounded that way.  I then clarified certain things, or provided more information.  In EVERY POST there has been good, useful advice.  Sure, there are a few people who seem hell-bent on trying to elicit a negative reaction or stir up drama, but the majority of the advice here is good.  Most of us aren't here to make you feel bad.  We're here to offer advice...and if you're behaving badly, we're here to call you out on it.  Some of the criticism I've received has made me re-evaluate my feelings and reactions to certain situations...and getting called out helped me gain a fresh perspective on my problems.

And I agree with the poster who suggested creating a blog.  Then you can vent about whatever you want and keep people from commenting if you like.  Only post here if you want feedback from others.

  • I'm fairly new to TK and the whole WP process, but I can tell you that I wouldn't vent on TK about how mean and cruel other knotties are. I truly believe that most of us on TK try to be supportive, but most people will eventually call a spade a spade.  Maybe this is just a really bad case of being misunderstood and you should find a place more suitable to your personality to vent.

  • When I first started posting I also thought that the women on here were very mean and rude. But after a while you just get used to it. But you cant take it personal and you have to remember everyone has a sharp tongue behind a computer.
