Second Thoughts :(

Hello to my fellow knotties! I am having a internal battle with myself. I love my colors which is David's Bridal Marine & Champagne with ivory accents. I just can't seem to come up with ANYTHING! We haven't set a date but, we are leaning towards early fall of 2013. I am not sure what to do for flowers or just about anything else. I have looked online for idea bored and have found nothing. I love my MOH but, she is absolutely no help. My fiance and I would like a beautiful and elegant and the things she is suggesting are not anywhere near what we are going for. If you have any suggestions that would be great as the wedding draws near I am drawing blanks...

  • Oceana did something similar - she was a bit before your time:

[QUOTE]Peekaboo- Can I ask about your sig?  What is the significance of "I french with my man?"

    <div>Of course.</div><div>
</div><div>I'm usually on NEY, have been for a while.  We had a girl come on who said that she and her BF gave each other "shirts off back massages" but she "didn't french with her man."  I, on the other hand, am a heathen and a hoar, so...I always make sure to french with my man ;)</div>

  • I got those little paint samples from the store to help me really decide on colors and I've just been looking at magazines and Pinterest for cool ideas. Feeling much more confident not that the venue is booked and we have an idea of what we're working with.

You need a venue before anything. If you're getting married at a church, do that first. Church will work with you on a date and time, then you can look at reception venues. From there, things will fall into place. Fall 2013 is a long way away.

Your MOH is not your wedding planner. If you don't like her ideas, don't ask for her input.

My bridesmaids wore marine, and it was lovely. I do want to warn you, some angles did weird things with the color of the fabric. These pictures were taken at the exact same time, the top by our photographer laying on the ground, and the bottom was MIL standing behind her:

Photographer took plenty of shots and was careful after that pic, so it worked out fine for us.

  • I wouldn't get too caught up in colors until you have planned a bit more. Even with a seven month engagement, I changed my mind multiple times. I thought I wanted my girls in a blush color, but when I chose my all-red brick venue, I realized it could really clash.
Just saying, things can change a lot, so just get the big stuff out of the way first.
  • Colors can really wait until you decided on bigger things like venue, date, overall wedding style.  I remember getting really overwhelmed by how many options there are when it comes to planning a wedding and once I found concepts that I really liked, I stopped looking at conflicting images and ideas.  It helped a lot.

  • I thought we were going to do navy and pink, but our venue has a lot of gold tones.  We ended up deciding on navy and yellow so it would sort of fit better.  We've changed a lot of the "little details" at this point and I know we'll change a bunch of them again as we get closer.  One small detail isn't going to "make the day" for me.  For me, it's about getting married to my FI.  Everything else is just icing on the cake Laughing
  • I have 7 mos to go and i havent picked my colours yet, so dont worry you have so much time!
