Girl2bewed!

How long did it take to get your marriage liscense before the wedding? And what all did you have to do?

You get it as soon as you go in to apply for it, they give it to you right then and there.. you get to pick which border you want lol, not that it matters..but it was cute. You need to bring $53 cash, you both have to go, no appt necessary, you both also need certified copies of your birth certificates which if you were born in MT you can get in the same building as the marriage license (different floor) and just have to know your Social security #, but you dont have to bring your social security card.

They ask you all kinds of questions like where you were born, what # marriage, where your parents were born etc. You sign and he signs and then they print it out for you.

On your wedding day you, FI, MOH, BM and officiant will all sign it. Your officiant should send it back in for you, and then one of the clerks will sign and notarize it for you and send it back to you. I thought this process would take a month or longer, but we got it when we got back from our honeymoon which was 7 business days after we got married, so pretty quick. They also send you a copy to use as well.

You need the marriage license to change your drivers license after the wedding, and you need your new temporary or perm drivers license to change your social security card.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Another question was Jenny (Im also using HI) there the day of to get things together for you and make sure things were right or did you have to deal with the employees themselves?

Also I am using Patricia too!

Oh and where did you get your pictures taken?

Sorry Im all about the questions its getting close lol

No problem about the questions, ask as many as you'd like, I'm glad to help! Patricia is awesome i love her!

No, Jenny is not there the day of, she gave me the banquet captains names (Cory and two others) in case I had problems. They did actually set the room up wrong, they had the layout flipped the wrong way so the head table was when you first walked in instead of on the back wall, they were quick to get it fixed for me though. There were several people setting up in the room so anytime there was a problem or question I just told one of them and they fixed it. The wait staff is also great!

Jenny never mentioned this seperate, I read it in the info she gave me when we first met, but dessert is included in your meal prices whether you are doing buffett or plated dinner. The dessert is cheesecake served family style at each table and was a HUGE hit, and since its free I guess they dont make special mention of it lol, so make sure to ask about it and tell them you want it! Also, I found out a month before the wedding that their staff cuts and serves the wedding cake at no charge, so make sure you ask them to do that as well

One thing we found in the nick of time, is it was really hot in the missouri room and because its so large they have to cool it slowly instead of just blasting the AC, so make sure if you are there first thing in the morning you tell them to start getting the AC going to cool the room! We told them around 1 and it was perfect by the reception at 6.

We just did the pictures there at the holiday, we took most of them at the alter area, some in the elevators which came out awesome, and some in front of a backdrop my photographer brought.

I bought our FG shoes at kmart, they were payless brand there, cheap and adorable!

Not sure who your photog is, but make sure to put together a must take photo list besides the standard posed ones. I wish we would have done more cutesy poses!

Let me know if you have any other questions!

I will have to ask about the cheesecake thanks!!!

I did know about the cake serving I had that on my ask list from a couple months ago thanks to another bride on my month board.

I actually found some ballet looking flats at target for $7 yesterday for my FG :-) Thanks tho!

As for pictures thank you! we are renting a limo and heading out to molt for pictures with just the bp but I might need a rain option :-) thanks!

I don't have a must take list but I have a couple weeks so I'll get on that!!!

Oh and what did you do with your presents after all your guests had arrived? I know there were some present theives last year at billings hotel and I don't want to risk that.

    I think that's it for now :-)

I had the gift table on the furthest side of the room, so rather then it being the first table when you walk in, it was across the room in the corner. This way people are less likely to walk off with a gift, we didn't have any problems with that. We also designated someone to bring the gifts up to our room close to the end of the night, if you are worried about it, you can have someone do that a little sooner. I'm assuming you are staying there at the hotel? SO that would be easy.

We also had permission to collect the rest of the items the day after so we didn't have to get all our of rented stuff or anything else when the night ended which was nice.

Another piece of advice my decorator gave us which I LOVED was to put the dance floor on the opposite end of the room. So when you first walk in the entry the dance floor is there and the head table is on the opposite end of the room, this way the guest tables can be closer to the head table rather then having the dance floor between you.

And you can upgrade to the 15x18 dance floor at no extra charge, rather then the 12x15 (i think that was the smallest size). It makes a huge difference and there is no charge for it. There is another size up you can pay for for much larger, but the 15x18 was perfect

I'm trying to think of anything else special I asked for. It kind of suprised me how much I had to ask for rather then them telling me (like the dance floor, cake cutting and dessert) but thats ok, becuase I'm a little anal so I thought of every detail lol

Do you need a decorator at all? We hired someone who used to work at Lets Party on Grand, she was absolutely amazing, she did lanterns lights & tulle on the ceiling, lights and tulle behind the head table, lights in front of the head table, in front of the cake table, and some extra blue tulle on various other tables all for only $225.. let me know if you are interested i can give you her name or send you pics of what she did for us
