What should I order first?

*Initation sets
*Guest Book
*Favors ( we haven't decided if we will be getting favors or not yet)
*Bouquets - They are dried florals and won't take up much room

Our venue and date are set in stone- we just have to officially decide on a time which we are thinking 6:30 pm

The Guest Book will be customized for us with our initials and wedding date.

From that list and considering our wedding is set for next year; what should I order first?

** Everything will be stored in a hope chest so it won't get destroyed.
** I'm ordering a little bit at a time starting now, that way we don't have to worry about everything last minute.

  • I would do invitations last, just to make sure you have your day/time/venue absolutely set. We had a scare and thought we'd have to order new invitations because of some family drama over where the ceremony was and who was invited (long story).

Be sure you check with everyone-all vendors and people who HAVE to be at the ceremony when considering a time.

Other than that, I don't really think it matters.

  • I agree with PP. I'd do invitations first.
Since you don't know yet whether you're doing favors, I'd hold off until you know for sure.
Are the dried florals something that might get destroyed if they are moved too much? If so, I'd order those last, so you're not shifted them around a bunch leading up to the wedding.
  • Um, none.  I would be more worried about booking a photographer and a DJ then ordering a guestbook or dried floral bouquets.

<div>I think she is just trying to think of all the little things she "needs" to get some of those purchases out of the way. I did this too. </div><div>
</div><div>But yeah OP, have you booked your major vendors yet? You have plenty of time, but I definitely booked with all of my vendors as far out as you are now.</div>

  • You have a ways to go yet. I would be thinking about DJ and other major venders first. After that I would start ordering the little things like the Guest Book. I would do invatations when you are a bit closer, just incase something where to happen that would cause you to change the time, date, place, or how many invites you will need.

You have a lot of time to go yet :)

  • Don't order your guest book yet, since it will have your date on it.  We had to change ours three times to make sure everyone could be invited.
You could easily change your mind on flowers from now to then.  So I'd hold off on those.
Don't waste your money on favors if you don't know for sure if you want them or not.
If you are getting the invites that you print yourself, you can go ahead and get those, just print them later.

Just worry about photographers, DJ's, and food for right now since you have your venue.
