Cat obsessed with engagement ring...

i thought i'd share this because i find it to be hillarious!! 

My cat, Oreo, has not stopped licking/biting my engagement ring since i got it! he's actually doing it right now as i try to type. he doesnt do it unless its on my finger so im not worried about him swallowing it.

Anyone else have this happen??

DH and I took in 3 kittens (See siggy) a few months ago-we were already married at the time. One of the little darlings absolutely loves both of our rings ... I can't count the number of times I've woken up to him chewing on my e-ring in the middle of the night (And DH says the same for his wedding band).

While I know he can't get to my ring while I'm not wearing it (I rarely take it off, and when I do, it's in a jewelry box he can't open), I do worry quite a bit about him possibly chewing on it enough to loosen a diamond (And him possibly swallowing it) when I'm asleep. I honestly don't have a solution for it, but maybe once your cat gets used to it (Because, to him it's "new"), he might stop? My babies came along 2 years into the marriage, so my ring has always just been "a part of me" to them.

Well, not a cat, but one of my cockatiels LOVES jewelry of any kind, and just adores my ring. I really have to watch her since they have strong bills and can easily chew out and swallow stones. I try to distract her with a zipper, since she loves those as well.

Wow - I just thought my dog was being weird, but apparently not. I wake up in the middle of the night with my hand on the pillow, and she's nibbling at the stone on my engagement ring!

Never had that problem with my pets, but when I worked in a daycare, several of the children would pull on my ring or ask to wear my "pretty."

Nope, not my ring. But my cat likes to roll around with my fiance's shoes and socks after he's taken them off at night. He's doing it right now actually! So weird. Lol!

Haha this is awesome! I have also thought about if he manages to get the diamond off, so when he starts going at it, I turn it around so he can still lick at the band part of it. He still gets his fix, but I don't have to worry about the diamond!

BTW, those are such cute kitties!!!
