I often go to carbonfund.org to use the carbon footprint calculators and read up on news. I just found this:
http://www.carbonfund.org/weddings. It's basically a way you can ask guests to donate money to offset the carbon footprint your wedding will leave behind as a result of travel to and from your wedding.
Now, I am all for donating to this fund. I was actually thinking about using the calculator to donate myself before my wedding. But am I the only one who thinks it's inappropriate to ask guests to donate to offset the carbon emitted by their travel to your wedding? You're basically asking them to travel, but making them feel guilty about it at the same time. That's how I would see it as a guest at least.
