Save the Dates

When should I send out my SAVE THE DATES? How early?

Re: Save the Dates

  • For OOT family and friends, I sent them about 6 months out, so they would have ample time to make travel arrangements.  I didn't send one to everyone locally - most people knew about the wedding by word of mouth, and then we sent invitations 6-8 weeks out.

Just be sure you send STDs only to those who you are certain you will invite to the wedding.  It is a pre-invitation, and you can't uninvite them if you send a STD.  If you're not sure whether or not you want to invite a particular person/couple/family, wait to send the actual invitation and skip the STD.

  • If your guests are more in town and around the area, I'd skip it.  But if they are from out of town, more like 6-9 months ahead of time.
It's time. Adoption saving and process started in November 2012.

  • Thank you for the help! :)
  • 6 months out from wedding date. As PP mentioned - you absolutely must sent an invitation to anyone who's received a STD..

  • We sent ours out last week. Probably about 95% of our wedding will be OOT, and they will need to make travel arrangements.
