Shady DJ's: Part 2

Last time I was posting about a DJ, I was asking how unprofessional it was when I told him it was a dry wedding and he asked if he can bring his own alcohol. No. So I went looking for another one and I found a DJ that was very nice, a bit more expensive, but seemed to be very professional. Anyway, I asked him a series of questions and everything was great! He then told my the price for the down payment and I told him I would have to wait for my paycheck. He agreed, then assured me that if anyone asked about our wedding date availability, he would call me first to let me know. Awesome! Well, I was checking in on him, and he had told me that he already had somebody book that day... WTF? I thought he said he would call me?

SO I am a little on the upset side, and a bit angry at myself for choosing such terrible DJ's. I'm just happy I never gave him my money.

  • That really sucks. I'm sorry you're dealing with that. Maybe check your local board for recs?

  • Sorry you're dealing with this, FWIW, I interviewed more DJs than any other vendor for my wedding. For whatever reason, that seems to be a profession that attracts more than its fair share of shady people, but there are good ones out there! I agree with PP; your local board may have some good pointers.
