Cutest candid wedding moment

So I was at a wedding this weekend and the CUTEST thing I had ever seen at a wedding happened.  I think I thought it was so cute because it was candid. It just happened.  Didn't see it on pinterest! So I thought it might be fun to share some of the cute things that accidentally have happened at weddings. Okay, mine.

The bride had planned to waltz for the first dance.  She was my college roommate so I had heard all about how this was happening.  They took lessons, practiced everyday, etc.  Problem was, she never practiced in her dress!  It was HUGE.  So puffy, like a cinderella/cupcake/princess type thing. She kept tripping over it. She was getting visibly upset and started to cry.  This is when it happened. The groom picked her up and held her in a big bear hug while he did the waltz by himself.  It was so precious. He thought the waltz was dumb in the first place, but it was so sweet that he saw her upset and tried to help her out. It was very cute.  Any one else have a story?

  • That is SO adorable and romantic.
  • That's really sweet.

We had a moment at a wedding we were DJing a few months ago, where a little 3 year old girl started chasing the laser lights on the dance floor and FI gave the remote to her dad to control. It was hilarious!

  • That is super romantic! My BIL's uncle sang for their first dance. My niece figured out it was someone singing in person vs the DJ playing a song and started twirling for the uncle. It was super cute and the photog got some really cute shots of it.

  • The same niece at the same wedding, saw my sister pick up her dress to walk up the stairs to before we walked down the aisle. So she copied my sister and the photog saw it and snaped a picture of it. We didn't know about that until my sister got the proofs back and that was the first photo she ordered.

  • Our candid wedding moment that I think was the cutest had to do with my ridiculous dress.  I had a huge one; the biggest I could find.  The train was 9 feet long, and thus required 10 bustle points to get it up and out of the way.  Problem?  That's a lot of bustles for my wedding party to figure out.

Here is me holding still for close to 10 minutes while I was swarmed by commitee of females trying to bustle me.  My husband was quite amused and came over to find out what the fuss was about:

I haven't been to a lot of weddings lately, so I can't think of anyone else's candid moments. But, during my wedding, when I got to the front of the aisle and saw my partner I said "HI !!"  like we were just seeing each other for the first time in a decade.  People giggled, and I didn't even realize I did it until I saw the video.  When my MOH saw the video later, she said "who were you saying HI to?!"
  • A couple of my favorite unplanned moments/photos came during the mother/son dance.  About halfway through my H's dance with his mom, we invited all mothers and sons to join them on the dance floor.  We have a really cute photo of one of our friends "dancing" with her 9 month-old-son.  In addition, one of my H's family friends (a woman our parents' age) lost her son about five years ago.  During this part of the dance, the best man, who is like a son to her, could tell she was missing her own son, so he took her hand and started dancing with her. The smile on her face was priceless.

Aside from me having to kick off my shoes to walk down the aisle and me messing up the vows and making everyone laugh, here is one of my fave candid moments. It's 2 of my former students (who I started off hating the first 2 weeks they were in my class and now can't imagine my life without) attempting to Tebow me and give me a card after the ceremony.

  • I think our most candid moment was when our classic car that we drove from ceremony to reception wouldn't start, so we had to have our dads and a few other guest volunteers push while we popped the clutch to take off (all the groomsmen were IN the car, so that was no help) Someone got it on video and we got some awesome pictures too.

  • This sweet little guy (H's nephew) took us aside to tell us he had fun at our birthday party, because he likes bubbles. I have no idea how our ninja photographer knew to catch the pic.
