How did you decide on your wedding date?

We chose the last Friday before "peak-season" began.

We wanted to get married outside and March/April and November are really the only months where it's not ballz asss hot outside or too cold. We got engaged in September and March or April were too close, so we waited till this November.

Our dating anniversary is 11/21, but that was a Monday. The 19th was the closest Saturday, but that was too close to Thanksgiving so we were trying for the 12th. Then the venue we wanted was already booked that day so we moved it to the 5th, which is FI's mom's birthday.

My FI and I were thinking about two different dates. As our anniversy is Labor Day weekend and we didn't want to get married on such a busy weekend. So we were deciding between Aug 27, 2011 and Sept 17th,2011 (Sept 10th is too close to Sept 11th for us). We had spoken to the venue and Aug 27th seemed like the date we were going to go with, however on Aug 26th my Papa (Grandfather who raised me) passed away suddenly so we moved it to Sept 17, 2011.

We originally set May 21 (didn't know it was rapture day) as our date, but OOT relatives that we thought wouldn't want to attend expressed an interest in coming. Their kids don't get out of school until June 1st.

My mother said "the family reunion is June 18th" so she would come if we got married a few days before that. (We're in NC, they're in MO, family reunion in FL)

Couldn't do Friday--they'd need that to drive down. Our officiant has a Wednesday night service, so he was unavailable. Thursday it is. All our important people can attend except my sister (she declined before we had a date) and FI's parents (in their 80s and don't really want to travel)

We also talked about October (opposite both our April birthdays) but decided I didn't want to get married during the semester (taking chemistry) and not have the time to take a honeymoon.

We picked the 7th because it's our anniversary and we always celebrate it. Then we picked June because FH would have preferred a summer wedding and because it's close to his birthday. On our wedding day it will be exactly 14 years and 6 months that we are together and madly in love! 8 days to goooooooooo!
