I don't post on the proboards.
I've been busy with volunteering almost fulltime and just got back from a mini vacation with DH and our neighbors That and getting ready for the holidays (handmade Christmas cards - 40+ is about to drive me up the wall).

How are you doing Leenie?

Hiya! I'm doing well! I'm engaged now (my sister was engaged so that's what brought me here about a year ago) and I just remember advice you gave me about my boyfriend's son re: some social issues he had and getting him to open up in counseling. You made some suggestions and it jump started him to come out of his shell : I'm truthfully forever grateful and just wanted to make sure I passed that along to you! I'm glad to hear your FI's son is coming out of his shell :) I honestly can't remember exactly what I said (I remember a little I think), but glad to know it was helpful!

Thanks for the congrats! Nothing planned as of yet. We tentatively set a date for late 2014 for now. My sister is engaged and her wedding was postponed because she became really sick. I'm waiting for her to start the planning process again and then I'll start mine. We just bought a house together, so we have tons of money half committed to remodeling. We will finish that first and focus on the wedding "stuff" mid 2013!!

He is doing MUCH better now, thanks for asking!!

That's awesome about the tentative date. That'll give you plenty of time to plan something uniquely your own I'm sorry to hear about your sister and hope she gets better soon!

Are you remodeling the whole house? HGTV gets me into trouble wishing we'd bought more of a fixer-upper so that we could add in our own style. Then again, DH works a lot and me and power tools aren't always BFFs. I'm pretty handy, but have set an electrical drill on fire (by God that screw was going in the hole).

We bought a house that was built in 1960s, needed some updating because the last time it was "updated" was clearly the 80s/90s. We gutted the kitchen, living room, replaced hardwood floors and have 2 rooms half torn to shreds that need to be put back together. It was between the house we chose and a new construction home. Not going to lie, I kick myself in the butt every time we are mid-project, but I'm really thankful for what we have and what we will make out of this house. It is fun. I swear gutting the kitchen and the drama that went along with it, and my abilty to keep calm and not have nearly as many meltdowns as my FI, proved me to be wifey material!! We weren't planning on an engagement until next year. Surpriseeee!!!
