Change of venue?

What is the best way to handle vendors when you are changing the location of your wedding?  I'm trying to get some deposits back and not sure how to apprach it

Re: Change of venue?

  • If you have a very good reason perhaphs you could try explaining the situation to them?
  • Can you transfer any of the vendors to your new venue?
  • Call the vendor with your contract in hand.

If you are trying to get your deposit back, you will have to explain why you are entitled to the return of the deposit.  Most contracts provide that the deposit is non-refundable and is considered liquidated damages in the event you cancel.

    This.

I also agree that you should see if the vendors are willing to change venues with you. I can't see it being too big of a deal.

  • Thank you for all your feedback.  I would be changing the venue from Hawaii to Las Vegas so the vendors would not be able to change.  It has become too much for my family financially and most of them cannot afford to get there.
