Make a must have shot list (e.g. shoes, rings, bride & groom kiss at alter, bride coming down aisle, etc.)

Also, send some sample photographs that you like to convey your style. I suggest looking through your actual photographer's portfolio. Hopefully you've hired this person because you already like his or her vision and style of photography.

  • Definitely do a "must-have-shots" list. Also don't be afraid on wedding day to say, "hey Hilary, can we do some shots next to this tree?" Or "can you get one of me and my grandma on the dance floor?"

  • Our photographer called us a couple weeks before the wedding to get a list of must-have shots.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • I've got a list plus a few I've printed off the internet to show her, plus I'll just grab her if I think of something else I want.

My photographer and her fiance (also a photographer) will be taking pictures of Our Wedding Day, but she seems offended that I want to supply her with a list of "Must-Have's"

We are meeting up Monday, to go over details and ideas.

I would find that odd. Are your must-haves like a list of the different combos of family members, or that you want a pic of the cake, the place settings, etc? Or is it more like you are trying to take artistic control of the "shoot"? Any pro photographer should be more than happy to take pics of whatever you specifically ask them to photograph (people, stuff, or requests for backdrop). I hope your meeting goes well.

  • also does anyone have any suggestions on people who don't like taking pictures like my fiance and all his groomsmen..lol i mean i don't want to torture the GM so just a couple shots will do i'm just nervous about my groom smiling like this =| haha
  • A must have list plus you can show them pictures you have seen that you liked to give them an idea as to what you are looking for.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re:photography: You just have to understand that they hate having their photos taken. H looks like he's lining up for a firing squad in most of our photos. He despises having his photo taken, and not surprisingly, the fact that we were getting married didn't change that.
