just curious

just curious.

I found this show called bridalplasty on netflix and out of curiosity decided to watch it. I'm not even half an hour into the show and I'm personally discusted. I mean I can understand that no woman, let alone us brides can be totally happy with our bodies(i mean come one its everywhere that us brides are supposed to get into shape for the big day.) I'm not against plastic surgery, please don't get me wrong, I feel that if a woman or man wants to modify their body which ever way they please they should. I'm just annoyed by this show because these women seem vain and catty. I know they are competing for plastic surgery and the dream wedding. I guess my curious thought is would anyone compete on a show like this or do any serious modifications to your body before your body before you're wedding.

For me personally I couldn't. I just want to fix my current tattoos and bring back the piercings I had when I met and started seeing my fiance before I got a job I had to remove them for. But I couldn't bring myself to get a large tattoo or piercing, or even get surgery before the wedding because I dont want to look like someone other than the woman he fell in love with(i even dyed my hair back to my favorite shade of dark brown for the wedding so I can go back to who I am before the wedding)

So how many of you would make a large change, like surgery, before your wedding?

  • I was absolutely disgusted with that show too.  It sends the message that YOU need to be "perfect" so you can have a "perfect" wedding.

Though I would never be on that type of show or get a major plastic surgery overhaul that would change what I looked like, if I had some spare $$$ I would definitely consider getting a few minor things done to myself (my chin or maybe my love handles). Oh, and I think I'll pierce my ears before my wedding too!
  • These shows are definitely extreme, and clearly none of them are in the right frame of mind to be getting married. I just want to look like MY best, which basically means a slight tan and good hair and makeup.
  • My husband asked me to marry him for ME, not who I could be if I did plastic surgery.

One BridalPlasty is hialrious I watched it and well it isn't for me it kept me entertained. What was disgusting with the show was watching the plastic surgery where they saw out part of your nose. It is pretty intense.

Also it is ultimately their choice to get plastic surgery and compete for an all paid wedding-

Two on the bolded. This makes no sense to me. He fell in love with you as a person not just based on your looks- would you expect to stay exactly as you are for the rest of your life? I mean plastic surgery is one thing but you are foregoing any body modifcations and/or hair dye b/c you won't look the same? That seems extreme and kinda weird.

I know I don't look the same as when we first met it was over 4 years ago and yet I still love him for him and he loves me for me, not my hair color/tattoos/piercings etc. If I went Cat man on him then I think he might think twice

  • obviously non of our fiances fell in love with our looks, but they obviously like the way we look why would we just go out and change that on them on not let them see it. I wouldn't do anything major before the wedding even if i wantted too just because i'm from a conservative family and so is he and my tattoos arent the most well recieved while I wont be covering any of them up I wont be getting any more till after to avoid friction. also i can't have any of the pieces I want to start on at my current job. I just find it annoying how the girls on this show act about the surgeries. not the wedding. the surgeries. i myself would go crazy for the wedding lol.
