A cash registry is not a good idea at all. People find it rude. You should save yourself the trouble and set up regular registries.
  • It's poor manners to ask people for cash.

I would recommend not using TKs tools. They are notorious for glitches.

Also, don't use a cash registry. Jus make a small traditional registry or no registry and people will get the hint.

Be warned a cash registry itsn't going to go over well here. If people want to give you cash they will, no need to ask for it.

I appreciate your options ladies, but it was a question on how to set up a cash registry not if I should or should not include it on my website. All that aside, I actually have guests who would like to donate towards my fiance and my honeymoon and a cash registry is the most effecient way for that. Thanks!!!
  • You can look at a site like honeyfund and then just add the link to your registry page.

You can not dictate how people respond to your post. No one is going to give you step by step instructions on how to do something as rude as create a cash registry.  If people want to give you money they can write you a check.  Besides why would you want to create a cash registry that takes a portion of your money.  Wouldn't you rather a $100 check than one for $97 after they registry takes their fees.

I actually kind if answered your question about the website. I highly recommend not using it since it crashes all the time.

Why not just let people write you a check?

Thanks for the insight on the website, but I've already put alot of details into it. My registry is the last thing I have to do so I'm going to hope and pray I don't have too many problems!!

I can read. I know what your question was. I choose not to answer how to do it b/c I prefer to try and talk you out of it. I would do the same thing if you asked me if you should dye your hair rainbow stripes or polka dots for your wedding day. <div>

A lot of other people have put a lot of time and effort into their wedding websites on the knot only to have it crash and lose everything. Unfortunately they can't get it back. Just be careful.
  • This is an open community so I uderstand you can respond how you see fit therefore I can respond how I see fit, and I saw fit to let everyone know I wasn't seeking opinions.  I would say happy planning to you, but from your profile I see that you have been married for some time now so I'll say, I hope you and your husband have a wonderful life together!!

  • The responses to this thread made me LOL so hard. OP, it's your choice if you want to look trashy and rude by having a cash registry. Not only is it a terrible financial mistake because the "registry company" takes a significant chunk out of your money [money which you deserve to have skimmed if you're fool enough to fall for their gimmicks] but your guests are likely to react to your poor idea by giving you gift cards instead. But please, do come back after your wedding and tell us how much money you got and how happy you were you chose to ignore PP's advice. And use net numbers, not gross. I'm just so sure we all have no idea what we're talking about!
