So fiance and I hae been together for almost six years, living together almost a year and engaged for a few months now and quite some time ago the whole chaning your name after your married conversation came up.
Now my mother took my father's name and my older sister changed hers when she got married but frankly (even before meeting my fiance) I was never fond of the idea. Flashforward to present and I'm currently getting my PhD and once I have that doctorate in hand will be known as Dr. last name so I'm still not keen on the idea of changing it. The fiance isn't pleased with the idea but has agreed to it as long as the one day children get his name, which is fine with me. We also talked about hyphenating but both names are long and complicated on their own.
So really I'm just curious what are you all doing/done? Have you had this convo yet? Why are/aren't you changing it?
