Why is it bad to talk about politics?  Isn't that your right as Americans?  Isn't that a good thing about freedom of speech?  Honest question, I'm Canadian.

Politics is one of my favorite subjects. I'm glad the government didn't shut down at midnight. I'm also glad that President Obama and the Senate Democrats didn't let the House Republicans cut Title 10 (women's health care funding that has been in place since the 1970's) to do it. I hope that the Tea Party Republicans honor their agreement instead of deciding to threaten to shut the government again next week unless they get more of what they want. I'm not holding my breath though.

All they did was buy themselves another week.  Which is exactly what they did 3 weeks ago.  Now they get to battle each other for what other funding will be cut, so they can keep things running for a little longer.

Yes it's our right to talk politics with freedom of speech, but  political conversations usually end in a heated debate. Some people just prefer not to discuss it knowing no matter what they say somebody is going to get in a huff over it.
