wedding crashers

Well, I guess in New Orleans it is what it is....You can bet on having at least one crasher! I'm trying to prevent this b/c we only paid for 175 ppl.  and I am not interested in paying for anyone that wasn't on my guest list. I would send out RSVP's but ppl seem not to reply to those here. Any suggestions on how to prevent wedding crashers?

Re: wedding crashers

  • The only surefire why is to hire security and provide them with a list of approved guests.

  • I would weigh the costs of additional guests vs hiring security.  You might not be saving money, but the cost might be worth it to keep out the unwanted guests.

You're not sending out RSVPs with your invites?  How are you going to know WHO is and isn't coming?  Send RSVPs.  If people reply with an uninvited guest, call them and let them know that due to budget/capacity restraints, you cannot accomodate uninvited guests.

[QUOTE]So that sounds like a decent idea but what if I have someone who I sent an invitation to but they brought a guest and I don't know their  guests name???  one of my BM's suggested that I send admit cards and maybe the will deter crashers from showing up. What do you guys think?

No.  Your wedding is not a carnival.  Do not send admission tickets.
