A little birdie told me that you used labels to address your invitations... Do you have any advice or wisdom to share on how you made it work?  Did you copy each name and address to the labels, or did you do a mail merge, or somthing else? Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Sorry to butt in but I also used labels to address my invites. I know...gasp! BUT it was so much easier than writing them myself or hiring someone. My step-mom was the one that did it and she used mail merge. I guess she had to use excel and write everyones names in one column, their street in another, then City, state and zip in the third column. She then used mail merge to make them into labels. I guess if you have it like this Mr & Mrs... 123 Main Street Sometown, New Hampshire 01234 then it won't merge right. Each line has to be listed in separate columns. Also she bought clear labels and printed on those with a pretty calligraphy font so it kinda looked like we printed on the envelope. I'm probably not much help but if you know how to mail merge then you are better off than I was...GL!

I am familiar with mail merge from word, but not from excel.  I have all the names in a spreadsheet as Babs said, so apparently, I'm already half done.  :) I tried to find instructions on mail merging from excel this weekend, but haven't tried it yet...  Good to know it's really possible.  Thanks!

I'm going to butt in too, sorry!  I did mail merge for the STD's.  You are going to use both Word and Excel to do a mail merge.  Like mentioned before, each element of the name/address should be in a seperate column (first name, last name, address, city, state, zip) in Excel.  You will open up a new Word file and select mail merge.  Once you get to the point of selecting recipients, you'll choose browse and find your Excel file.  This will import your data from Excel.  Its a pretty easy process to follow.

Hey lady!  I guess everyone already answered your question which is great cuz I have no clue how to do it, my sister actually made them for me!  The only way I could figure out was to do it in word and just make the columns the width of the labels and then type them and hope it worked.  Sooo i handed that project to her and she figured it out. I agree with with Babs it's SO much easier and we used a nice font and it looked just fine!
