What to do about bridesmaids

So we have 10 bridesmaids and 10 groomsmen.. all really important people in our lives.  I have 1 bridesmaid who has been talking to other people that she would rather not be in the wedding due to financial issues  ( even though she has had months to plan ).  I talked to my fiance about this seeing how she is the wife of his best man.  He says lets just cut it down to 5 or 6 instead of 10.  I just dont understand how you can tell someone oh sorry your not in it anymore. Especially since everyone else is so happy to be a part of it. My thing is if she doesnt want to be in it fine.. we can still have everyone else. He says no we will just cut it down that will save us on flowers and gifts.  ( he is kinda  tight wad)  Please help!!!!!

yeah i agree, rude to ask people to step down because you realize it will cost money. instead of spending time with a heartache over lost friendships, spend time finding really great deals on gifts, and do small, diy, affordable bouquets and bouts.

if it were me, i would be sure to find out her dress budget BEFORE shopping (do this with all 10 of them, seperately) so that you know what she can afford. finding out ahead of time gives her a say so in what she is comfortable paying, and gives her an opportunity to tell you if she cannot afford the dress. or you can offer to supplement the cost if you chose a dress that is above her price range.

sides dont have to be even. and if you asked me to step out of your wedding, i would be very hurt. if i was your replacement, i would feel like 2nd string.

Well in the end that bridesmaid called me to tell me she just cannot be in the wedding for financial reason. Which I totally understand and I appreciate her honesty.  So hopefully the rest of the wedding party runs smoothly for the next 5 months LOL>..
