Valentines Day

I'm just curious as to what all the other engaged couples are doing for Valentines Day. :)

My Valentine's Day: Spa Day with the Fiance. The top spa here in town is offering a Valentine's Day special. They are doing a "side-by-side" treatment for no additional charge, & we signed up to be VIPs. So, that means we get little treat bags to take home & we're going early to enjoy the VIP suite which is candle-lit and has sparkling juices, sweets, and fruits. :) I thought it was just an adorable idea.

Anyone else doing anything 'unusual' for Valentine's Day?

Re: Valentines Day

  • Not really unusual, but we're doing the same thing we always do.  We get on epicurious and pick out some interesting new recipes, we cook together, we enjoy a nice meal together with a nice bottle of wine, and then just enjoy each others' company.  I wouldn't have it any other way.

This year I'm excited to do some chocolate fondue with the fondue pot we got as a wedding gift.
  • We are going to a season premiere party of the Amazing Race because some of our friends were on the show this time. Go Jody and SHannon!!!
The movie theater serves full meals and alcohol, so that will do for our V-day celebration.

Tomorrow morning a bunch of my friends are running a marathon here in town, so I'll be out and about on my bike, cheering and trying not to freeze to death.

  • Tomorrow we're going to check out a couple of AHR venues and go pick out a wedding band for me.  (We ordered the bands last week, then got a call that mine isn't available in our chosen metal.)  Then either FI will whip up something for dinner or we'll just get drive-thru and watch The Hurt Locker.

Neither of us really gives a crap about Valentine's Day, honestly.  We'll certainly go out on Monday and pick up some candy and such that's on clearance, because we do that after every candy holiday.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • We're just doing dinner and a movie. Then Monday (because Sunday was already booked) we're going to get a couple's massage.

  • We are (well FI is since I'm up already) sleeping in today and just taking it easy. We both gave each other flowers over the weekend. We might go out tonight to dinner but nothing really planned. To us, every day is Valentine Day!
    Anniversary
  • We went to brunch today to beat the crowds. It was really nice. Today they had bottomless mimosas!
Other than that, it was pretty low key.
