Changing wedding date

Not a *HUGE* deal bc nothing was set in stone (translation: no contracts signed, no money put down)... I was a bit disapointed bc the date, 7 Aug 2010, is our 3.5 yr anniversary, so it did have special meaning to me. However, Toby's mother is a school teacher and just called with her new school year schedule and with our date she wouldnt be able to travel from Guam. Obviously, not having his mother there is silly just to keep our date.

One good thing so far about the date change is that the venue we originally looked at is available in July while Aug 7 was already booked. I am soooo excited and plan on seeing Loulu Palms this week :-D

I am however irritated with one of his aunts bc as soon as I put out the July date she responded that she had already made reservations at a hotel for the Aug date. I have not sent out Save the Dates and I have made it clear that August was the *month* we were shooting for. NEVER did I state that anything was set in stone .... I guess I shouldnt worry about any of this as it wasnt my mistake, and lets face it: as a bride I have a lot of other stuff on my plate

Hotel rooms are almost always refundable.  She needs to get a grip.

Anyone booking hotel rooms before they get confirmation of the wedding date has no one to blame but themselves if the final date is different.  She's the one who jumped the gun, and she's the one that gets to either switch her reservation to July or get a refund.

Well that was studip of your aunt to already book a room but don't understand why she's tripping she can change the date.

Yeah don't trip on that one she can deal with it since she jumped the gun.

She's an adult. She can deal with this herself. As you already said, you have other things to worry about.
