My fiance and I want to have our ceremony with immediate family only (parents and siblings), then have a big party a few months later. All our families are spread out around the country, and none of them are together anymore. Is there any way to have a ceremony and dinner with them that wont be super awkward? Or should we just scrap that idea and have the ceremony and reception on the same day so that there are more people to distract them from being in the same room together?
