Numbering RSVP cards

Hey ladies! Fiance and I are going to stuff/package up our invites today and tomorrow! I was wondering if any of you guys had numbered your RSVPs? I read this post:

And it seemed pretty legit. I guess I"m nervous to pull the trigger! Did you number your guest list in excel? Any ticks/trips you can share for stuffing envelopes?

Re: Numbering RSVP cards

  • I did it! Just get a piece of paper and/or a Word document (Excel would work too but it's hard for me to read), and then start a numbered list of your guests. I would leave a line where I stopped for that certain day and was sure to highlight anyone I skipped over.

Be sure to stay focused or at least double check all of your envelopes when you're done. I guess I got in zombie/zoned out mode and I accidentally numbered a few of the hotel accomodation cards (same size as the RSVP)! I also went back to make sure all of the numbers were consistant with what I have in the computer.

  • I hadn't thought of that, so thanks for sharing!

I did. I just put a small number on the back corner lightly in pencil. I made a pile of the numbered response cards next to the invites & accomodations cards and just went in order as I stuffed the envelopes.  I made sure to double check each one against my list as I stuffed them. I'm pretty OCD so I triple checked them to make sure the numbers matched my list and that I stamped the RSVP envelopes too as I went along.

  • Ditto faerylvr27 - we just finished doing this!
  • Actually I'll probably only have 41 invitations going out, so when I'm addressing them I might just go ahead and fill in everyone's names on the RSVP cards.  I do calligraphy as a hobby and don't get much of a chance to use it unless someone I know is getting married and takes me up on the offer to address their invitations!  But thanks again for bringing this up because it would be a hassle to get back an RSVP and not know who it's from.

This...we did this.  We used pen, but still put a very small number on the corner and double checked against my excel spreadsheet that i developed with each invitation.  Very simple and from what i hear, saves a ton of time!  :)
